  1. I know some former child actors. They all have almost the exact same story. It's crazy.

  2. Really good questions from Will Reeve.

  3. McCurdy's character on 'iCarly' (Sam Puckett) was obsessed w/food and had a less-than-ideal mother — both of these elements were repeatedly used comedically on the show. One wonders whether this was coincidence or something more.

  4. Given the fact that McCurdy has spoken about her recovery from eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia), her current appearance is notable. While she may be 'naturally thin', she nonetheless looks emaciated (see recent photos from her Instagram & her recent interviews on GMA and Nightline). There doesn't seem to be much difference between her current appearance and the way she looks in photos from the time she was in 'iCarly' and 'Sam & Cat' – she doesn't seem to have GAINED much weight since then, and in fact, may be larger/heavier in those earlier photographs than she is now. This is not what one might predict for someone who has RECOVERED from eating disorders.

It seems intuitive that many women/girls with anorexia or bulimia will experience a noticeable weight gain after they have recovered. Given the fact that people with such ailments may look to McCurdy's experiences for guidance or support, her current appearance is worthy of discussion. While it is unclear how the interviewer could have broached the topic during this particular interview, one wonders whether he was considering such issues while looking at her.

  5. Abuse can be profitable. Try having your mom leave you at 18 months old and never coming back. Maybe she sucked as a person, but you have a career and you will never be homeless and hungry. Im glad my mother is dead too.

  6. She looks like she's on Heroin!!!

  7. She’s got fans forsure still

  8. I am halfway through the book and her writing is so captivating and the way you see the manipulation in the eyes of a child is so hearbreaking.

  9. First good interviewer I've seen with her.

  10. Thank you for writing this book Jennette!

  11. She’s really making the rounds, she’s on all the different channels promoting her book.

  12. I really enjoyed how much respect this interviewer had for Jennette. He was so sweet and careful with his words. If this was an hour long I would have watched it. I hope they stay in touch he was truly so kind to her.

  13. I love her. I grew up watching icarly and I still watch it to this day with my daughter. I could always sense that Jenette had a much different energy than Miranda Cosgrove and Ariana Grande. Trauma is real and changes you. I’m so proud of her and love her sharing her stories!!! You go sis!💛

  14. I understand that it's hard but also take accountability you don't need to write a book to express yourself to others……..

  15. Someone forcing their child to take showers under their supervision until they are 17 is a different type of evil. the sad thing is, I relate to her experiences a lot as my "mother" is too narcissistic/abusive. I haven't spoken to my "mom" for a year.

  16. Sacrifice to make us think it's okay to hate parents

  17. I know she said she's better from her eating disorder, but she's STILL really thin.

  18. I bet the title would be “Why I still love Daddy” if it was her dad she suffered the abuse from. 🙄🤦‍♂️🥴🤢🤮😂🤡🌎🖕

  19. If you think Jennette had it bad, you should read about Judy Garland’s mother.

  20. This literally reminds me of the movie “the act” on Hulu so sad

  21. I hope a lot of people buy this book, especially younger people going through what she has gone through. Mental health therapy is something most people are afraid of dealing with, especially younger people and they think drugs are their temporary answer. She shows a better way through a controlling parent.

  22. I'm so sorry to hear.. for her.

  23. Why dose she speak now her.mom pass away in 2013 a long time ago she just talking about her past life

  24. Her mom is 4'11 so get her height from her

  25. She will regret the title. Unless the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

  26. I read it. It’s very sad. Very funny at times too

  27. I grew up my whole life watching her, loving iCarly, following her closely, I saw her episode of Cupcake Wars for her country music album. And knowing that at that time she'd been suffering anorexia, and here she was on Cupcake Wars, promoting something someone expected her to do, eating these desserts that those bakers had made just for her, knowing that she was probably feeling so much guilt if she truly enjoyed having those cakes, it's really hard to think about and to watch that content the same way again. I'm glad that she's a lot more honest and authentic now. Now, she feels a lot more real. I respected her back then, now I'm in my twenties younger than her by only six years, and I respect her a hell of a lot more now.

  28. I know what it like to have a narcissist mother, BUT I don’t like when people write about their deceased mothers when the mother has passed away and can not confirm nor deny her side of the story. Why did she wait until her mother’s passing to talk about this? She knew how her mother was when she was alive.
