Water heater (bad safety valve and gas burner shut-off failed)? No flash, white smoke that dissipates quickly. 80 gallons of super-heated steam can be really powerful.
The amount of gas that is needed for that to happen, damn. If it was a Gas leak & the gas was confined to the inside those people were dead in their sleep before it even exploded. But if it is that then what set off the blast. A spark from an outlet or Refrigerated Air unit. Or someone was using a flame near the gas pipes. Maybe a home made bomb, Could have been Drug manufacturing. I know some Drug making areas have Exploded but i dont know the size. Its so sad. I hope they find out what happened soon.
