A New York City carriage horse collapsed on a Midtown street and needed to be doused with water before being revived by NYPD officers. The horse is now recovering at a stable nearby.

When I was in the military in Egypt I use to see the horse drawn carriages like this. This is inhumane the way they treat these horses. It's obvious we have the wrong regulations in this country.

I have owned 10 horses growing up.
You couldn't count thier ribs.

The horse was diagnosed with EPM, it did not collapse due to exhaustion, it collapsed due to a disease that the owner was unaware of. Being unaware of horses illnesses without signs of symptoms is coming due to horses being a prey animal, they typically do not show weakness as a survival instinct. Aside from that, he wasn't hurting the horse, it is very important for a horse to get back on its feet after falling or collapsing because every moment it's down is a increasing risk of the horse not surviving
Im not actually clear on the cause. If it was dehydration or some kind of other illness. Hope its not a horse pandemic or the result of New York's government polices
