Of course, scare the consumer to resent the government. All I know is that if everyone is treated as a business owner with reporting the tips, deductions, expenses, etc on taxes then that's going to be ONE HELLUVA thing for the IRS to take on. It's a lot to keep track of exactly of spending and other stuff for business deductions, expenses, etc., and sometimes things don't work (like getting receipts for Metrocards or filling up Metrocard stuff). How would one person be able to get the receipts if at times it can't be obtained?
Of course they will come after us. They always do. And they feel particularly nasty this time around because they have a deep rooted dislike for the middle class and they want to crush us.
