So they changed the voting system so Palin could not win election? that sounds about right ? Change the rules in the middle of the game? Much easier than stealing the election? Trump haters are still at it.
Ranked choice voting helps third parties get into office, which could break gridlock.
It may be too complicated for Palin, but it's the most sensible means of getting people elected that actually represent voter's preferences. Maybe it's a win-win overall. I wish more states would adopt it. It's very practical and tempers the two party mess we have.

Mmmm. That’s stupid as the constitution already lays out an outline. The states get to decide but you cast a vote. Not a wager. Two different things it would be no different than changing your vote and voting AGAIN if your guy doesn’t get the win. It unacceptable and completely prone to corruption as now you can have teams of candidates working together against a singular candidate. Bad idea. Not to mention not very democratic.

It's NOT NEW. California, a deep blue on blue state, has had it for years. That's how Kamala Harris got elected Senator. Since it was top two primary vote getters go to the actual election, California ended up with a choice between Kamala, or ANOTHER democrat. Some choice. No other choice was available. Look how that turned out. Then she got picked for VP (because she's a "black female" which is racist and sexist) so Gavin Newsome got to CHOOSE her replacement. NO ONE voted for him. NO ONE.

People voted with their mind, with reason and a desire for leaders who cared about the whole.
People were conservative or liberal minded… moderates or independents.
The guy with the most votes wins…period.

Today the 2 party system constricts the freedom of political identity. We have to "register" as one or the other when a simple registration and declaration would work. Let there be elections for 3 years as people declare presidential candidacy…as the top 20 move on in year one…the top 10 in year two and top 5 in year three with top 3 in year 4. The process keeps people awake and aware of current events as they are constantly involved and engaged in who is in office and what they are doing. Instead of campaigning, leaders must "show their work" constantly or be ousted in the next election. Local elections yearly…Congress yearly…the campaigning and raising dollars ceases. People are judged by their works and accomplishments…vs pretty speeches. Money stops being a factor…With free social media, tv time is obsolete. We did this for the lasts Mayor race (ranked choice) and they had to do a recount with double counted ballots, etc.

When do you understand that the GOP is no longer stands on law and order, but defunding the police, abusing IRS, DOJ, DOD etc god have mercy on us. Civil unrest, to civil disobedience or god forbid open terrorist acts and assassinations to civil war will create a lot of harm, and damage.
