People who have student loana forgiven shpuld watch out. I t may be counted as income or capital gains. Possibly, you will be required to pay income TX on it.

I attended UT Austin and graduated with a double major in Math/Econ while in AFROTC. AF requested a 5 year commitment and my loan would be paid off. I agreed and 22 years later retired O5 as a Strike Eagle Driver. My point is this: Honor your Commitments. It's a basic tenet of good character. The Air Force kept up their end of the bargain BECAUSE I kept mine.
God forbid that the USA should be like every other prosperous Western democracy and offer free higher education. Oh no, that's Ungodly Socialism!
