Campus interviews: Engineering students were puzzled, how was someone who took out student debt, spent a portion on personal items and didn't finish or graduate, or took a course that wouldn't get a job, expect not to struggle in debt. Now we have the answer, there is a political party that will tax the engineers and hand it over to them. Just to get their votes. They knew if they complained loud enough, a political party will come to the rescue.

Yes, public schools fail to educate all children, but those motivated are among that 35% that can read. Those motivated are also the ones that will sail through college, whether loans are involved or not, and they will be responsible adults and pay back their loan accordingly.

I did not go to college so I could get a loan to buy a car to go to work and pay taxes. I want that loan to be paid back by the government. Because I am still hurting from when the economy was so bad and the country was in a recession and inflation was at a record high and Biden wants to take away the fuel for the car i got a loan for to go to work to pay his salary.

I am a single Mom high school diploma working as a clerk and my daughter completed 6 years of college (working while studying) and had her student loans paid for in full two years after getting her Master's Degree. We both have cars and homes paid for in full……she OWNS her education and we are not owing to anyone especially the government . The only forgiveness we needed was from Jesus Christ, to this we give Jesus all the glory.

Hmmm … I worked part time throughout my undergrad years to cover tuition, and joined the military to cover grad school (plus part-time work). And I chose not to go to colleges which would cause unmanageable debt.

Student loans should be dischargeable or modifiable in bankruptcy proceedings based on a proper showing of financial hardship. It is absurd that the credit card debt on a Spring Break trip to Cancun is unquestionably dischargeable by a bankruptcy court, but tuition, housing, and fees for college are not.
I started saving for my kids education in a 529 Plan when they were two years old. So, cut me a check.😂
Starting a 529 account is probably pointless for parents with young children now. It seems to me that college at state Universities will be free in 10 years.
