Ps I have been paying taxes for my whole life for schools I don't even have kids . But I know a educated country is worth every penny China and India are poring money into educating there countries. Because they know it only takes one Microsoft or Apple to change the power balance in the world on every level.
When Trump gave billionaires corporations billions of dollars of tax breaks who like him were not only making record profits and outrageous salerys and already paying practically nothing already . I didn't see the Trumpets say nothing! But when it is helping the liite guy who did the right thing & got a education need help There all up in arms ? Seriously ? BTW any of that trickle down money make it into your bank accounts ?

Interest is the cause of these burdens not the loans. That is why God Allah prohibited consumption of interest.
How about forcing colleges to use money generated from sports to cover all student tuition.

When I finished college in 1994, I had 4 Federal student loans that totaled $9,000.00. When I took them out they were low interest 1.5 -2.0 percent interest government loans. They were sold, without notice to me, to a consolidating Student Loan Corporation and $4,700.00 dollars was just tacked on. I’m an accountant and I still don’t understand how that amount was calculated or how the sale was legally part of the terms of my original loans. I can only imagine what happened to people who were encouraged to borrow part of their 4year college costs between them and now.
If student loans had been well regulated, and subjected to fair and ethical oversight, and restricted to “non-profit” entities, millions of American tax paying college graduates wouldn’t be in this situation.
I personally don’t think it’s okay for Congress to give billions in taxpayer money to Airline companies WITH NO STRINGS ATTACHED, (no requirements to keep people employed, or to not give the money to shareholders, or to pay it back), and begrudge helping students loan holders out of a situation the government duped them into.
It’s time to spend taxpayer money on taxpayers.

We worked hard to pay for my kids to go to collage. We sacrificed doing and having things to save money for this. Now I am being told I should not have done that. Each of my three children could have gotten $20k to start their lives but instead I am paying for somebody else. Somebody else I don't even know and who could be bothered to save for this. This is completely unfair. I hope the Biden Admin will pay me back the $60k that he owes me..

Student loan relief plan is not a fallout. We are in this constant loan argument because of greed and indifference for the middle and lower class. Imagine trying to support yourself surrounded with prejudice, racsim, and low wages. Its time for everyone to understand posting the crisis of the poor must end and give us- the ones who cry and beg for extension of paying back. Don't blame the classes with no money and small cash for not getting a big paying job to pay a big bill that is small for the rich. This is time to accept and move foward and learn from this moment. A penny for relief.
So they are giving 10k to 20k to people who signed a binding contract knowing they were taking money and had to pay it back and did not. They should be giving that money to the people who had to figure out how to pay there loans back and did. I spent 7 years paying back my loan and did it. I did not cosign with these people. That is there individual debt that they brought on themselves and signed there names to. This makes as much sense as telling me that everyone at work took a month off than showed up and the boss comes to me and says i know you have been here working 10 hours every day but uh well the other employees couldn't meet there obligations so we are going to take money out of your pay to pay them for what they couldnt achieve. That's fair they say.. how about we have the government take money out of yor paycheck and everyone to pay for my car loan? Maybe they dont, because you dont have anything to do with my car choice or my loan that I signed. It's not your obligation to pay for my car loan. Same as it is not my obligation to pay for your loan you signed your name to. Did I cosign your loan.. no. Did you cosign on my car loan No. so why do i have to pay into you legal binding loan contract you signed. Has nothing to do with me. What a joke of a plan and it shouldn't cost taxpayers anything. If you can send billions abroad you send spend billions locally. Education should not cost anything, stop talking what others paid for, they shouldn't have had to do that to begin with. This goes back centuries and don't ever forget, money is paper and digits…it has no value other than what you are told is has and forced to accept. Meanwhile, they print money all the time and don't suppose to. All of your debts is a scam on your existence and those before you. Your politicians are failures and traitors. The government should examine two things: (1) how much a student borrowed (2) how much has been paid back. If the student has already paid back the loan, but because if interest and fees, THEY STILL OWE MORE THAN WHEN THEY STARTED, due to outrageous fees and interest rates that occurred when illness or job losses made them miss payments-
so their loans were sold and interest rates skyrocketed-without their consent–these loans should be cancelled. I am 79 years old. I have repaid my loans several times over, yet still owe over 3 times more than I borrowed. 15% is taken from my social security, and has been, for the past decade, yet I owe more now than before. If garnishment starts up again, because rents have gone so high, I can become homeless. Because of the garnishment I could not afford medicade B, and had to cancel it, with 10% penalty every year I do not have it.I thought the feds were raising interest rates to get inflation under control. This loan bailout is equivalent to printing money and dumping it in the economy. This will increase inflation so to make things better, the feds will have to increase interest rates at a higher amount, putting the economy and businesses in more pain than before. This is definitely gonna hurt.
Ok, but the U.S. is already trillions of dollars in debt anyway. So, who's paying for that???😆So, what does it matter? They might as well form a student loan debt forgiveness program for all Americans who attended college. Because there's not enough jobs available for college graduates. There are large numbers of college graduates coming out of college and not finding jobs! With the recent layoffs this year, there's barely enough jobs for anyone!
President Biden campaigned on this issue in this way. Everybody that voted for him knew the plan. He’s just fulfilling his campaign promise. I don’t recall ABC making such a fuss or asking the cost of PPP loan forgiveness or asking what TRUMP’s tax breaks for the rich cost. ABC didn’t ask what aid to Ukraine costs. Democrats asking silly questions like Trumplicans are just weak and scared and don’t deserve to win. That’s why we should elect Progressives in their places to really save our democracy and help middle class and poor people thrive.

How is it unfair! Unemployed people got their wages plus hundreds of dollars more for sitting on their butts for months and had no incentive to go back to work which left a shortage of workers! That by the way was on Trump's term! Parents of small children got help for months with hundreds of dollars per month per child! Parents of children that weren't planned)Where is the help for college students and parents that are trying to better themselves and this countr?! College cost a lot more these days! A lot of athletes got hit during covid since they weren't recruiting. Kids that work their entire lives for scholarships got passed by. We need to invest in this country's education system! Sorry not sorry I'm not going to a doctor or nurse or teacher that is not educated! Every country is passing our education system. We need to invest in this country's education system. I know college students that are working two jobs and trying to keep up with their studies! My son's school cost $65,000 a year! Thanks for the 10 grand! He has a lot of friends that chose not to go to college because they didn't want to get into debt and are working at McDonald's!

People making $125,000 per year do NOT need student loan forgiveness. It makes absolutely no sense. They should cancel loans for Pell Grant borrowers and US slave descendants.

At the very least, I can understand if the interest rates were to be lowered on these student loans, but to allow any amount of debt forgiveness is completely unfair – particularly to those who sacrificed, played by the rules, and paid off those loans. Or to those families who sacrificed, saved, and financially planned to afford/send their children to college. Where is their relief???? I think it's comical that this administration brings forth debt relief plans to supposedly help those who are in debt, while at the same time, they are positioning themselves to hire 87000 IRS agents to go after the middle class.
