Body Found At Lake Mead Identified As Father 20 Years After His Apparent Drowning

Tom Erndt said his father Thomas went missing in Lake Mead in 2002 and his body was never recovered, but now declining water levels led the Clark County Coroner’s Office to give Tom the answer he was looking for. After referencing DNA samples, one of the bodies recently uncovered at the lake was identified as Tom’s father. KNTV’s Alyssa Goard reports.

  1. How sad, Im pretty sorry for you lost. God Speed.

  2. The fact that I see no urgency from the federal government with these rivers drying up, makes me believe… “we gon’ die!” Condolences 💐

  3. Why in the world would he think his father was still alive somewhere? There's such thing as hope that that's ridiculous.

  4. So, why did they cut his explanation for how he died? Also, why would you think your dad was alive if you were there while he was screaming for help in a lake and he never resurfaced? Stupid.

  7. I pray that you and your family and other families are able to find closure, that you all call out to God to draw near to mend your hearts and sooth your souls. I'm so very sorry for your loss and the years you've had to endure the pain

  8. How traumatizing for this family especially the kids!

  9. He looks like his daddy awwh

  10. I hope it dries all the way out imagine all the other bodies they will find!

  11. Oh buddy, I am so very sorry. I wish you, your family, much love and heartfelt condolences. Heal well~I cannot imagine how this impacted you as a child~all of you, heal well, you deserve that.

  12. Can’t they build a synthetic human, infuse the dna and get some what of a family back? I know if my dog died I would get one

  13. So very sad but glad they have answers now. I prefer not to use the word "closure" as there is never closure….only moving forward. The wound is always there no matter how much time passes. Peace & love to his family.

  14. Glad hes at least gotten this far. Rip man

  15. So did all the other adults on the boat just sit back and watch the dad drown?

  16. How do they know "he's at peace"?

  17. i just don't understand how people can drown and not be rescued in a lake. there's not really any current or anything. anyone know?

  18. Maybe if some fat cats in washington didnt make a dam. Dude would still have a dad

  19. So sorry for Tom. I hope his heart will heal from his tremendous loss one day. 🙂

  20. God bless you & your Sister ❤️

  21. This guy should really see a grief therapist

  22. God bless you Tom. I can’t imagine how awful the last 20 years have been for you. Hope you find peace.

  23. I'm so sorry for your loss, Thomas and family.

  24. A lot of questions. I hope they do a full autopsy. So many bodies being found there. The Clark county police are useless now and back then. They should’ve searched the lake.

  25. RIP. At least now he can give his dad a proper resting place.

  26. Horrible police work all those years ago. Really pathetic
