Body camera video shows the moment a Black pastor was arrested while watering his neighbor’s plants in Alabama. Officers said they were responding to a call about a suspicious person in the yard. Michael Jennings was arrested despite a neighbor explaining that he and the homeowner were good friends. The charges against Jennings were eventually dropped and he plans to file a discrimination lawsuit against the officers.

Refusing to answer may make police suspicious of you. Identifying Yourself: law in most states requires you to identify yourself to a law enforcement officer upon request.
These believers, if their God is real, have it coming. It makes no sense for Jesus to save them from truth of the suffering they cause with their prejudices.

I ve had black people in Florida steal water, go on the roof to pick ovacados, kids actually broke into both My apartment in the duplex, and steal the TV from the front apartment, later when the house foreclosed a black guy ripped out the AC unit from the side of the house. Also in KC my friend had a black guy steal his lawn mower, the garage tools all stolen by the black guys cousin who used to live there. Also they will knock on the door to see if anyone's home before they rob the place. So, . . .

(well unless you are in like California or some place it's illegal smh) She said she knew him … he is her neighbor too … but couldn't tell it was him when she called well why not find out if it's a criminal watering flowers before you call? smh Then putting him in handcuffs and in the police car…….. unbelieveable! smh

I live in a rural subdivision in alabama. My house is on hill so we have a pretty good view of the neighborhood. One day my brother was sitting on the porch and saw one of our neighbors come out of his back door and go into the back door of his neighbors house. A little while later he came out carrying some things back into his house. To make a long story short neighbors will steal from neighbors.
Then they wonder why people dont like them respect them and some even shoot at them…

This is SO fu@ked up. They could possibly say they initially handcuffed him because they had some sort of convoluted suspicion that he was faking watering the plants.. but as soon as the lady who called dispelled their suspicion and stated that she recognized him, was friends with the homeowner and was very likely allowed to be there… they stuck him back in the cruiser and continued asking him to identify himself. This is 100% 4th amendment violation and turned into an unreasonable arrest since they continued to keep him in custody after the fact. You can’t force someone to identify themselves simply because you received a call of “suspicious person”… that’s not how the laws work.
I hope this man files a lawsuit against the PD, because these actions need to stop. People have rights and this man was clearly not accused of any crimes nor was he observed by the officers doing anything illegal.

If our taxes were wasted, it would be a shame.
If the girl had been watering the flowers no one would have called and if they did the cops would have left immediately. Got a call of a suspicious person may have well have been got a call for a black guy. He had no duty to id if they could not state the reasonable articulateable suspicion of a crime. He gave them more than enough info in the first few seconds.
If he was a white man watering flowers he would’ve be suspicious no arrest they wouldn’t of even asked for the identification if he was white and officer why do i look suspicious………………. Because i’m black?!
It sucks it happened but just gave them your id pastor. You got to do whatever they ask to be safe, the situation could have gone wrong.
And the problem?Making nothing out of something.
Okay, so we don't trust the black pastor, but please, go ahead and seek the approval of a nearby random white woman. Wow!
