What does being short staffed have to do with giving someone juice clearly staff did that.. or are they saying the old people drunk it by accident because they were so thirsty
In my opinion that is not a mistake.
This is why we won't allow our mom to go into one of these facilities.

She didn't have much longer to live anyway.
There needs to be more regulations of these facilities, I used to work at a hospital and I was so shocked at the amount of nursing home patients were admitted to the hospital with questionable injuries. There needs to be cameras in every inch of those facilities because people are just so cold hearted these days it's sad.
The staff to patient ratio is in these places is ridiculous. When profit over people is the mantra these types of things will just keep on happening. There needs to be more accountability from an outside source.

How do you mistake dish soap for juice? This sounds like murder.
You can’t “accidentally” pour dishwashing liquid instead of juice it doesn’t matter if they’re short staffed or not. That’s not an excuse to not do your job. Juice and dish soap don’t even have the same consistency you would’ve known you weren’t pouring juice because dish soap is a lot thicker and gooey. There’s no way this was accidental
This is why I don’t even buy long term care insurance, i will take care of hubby myself or hire someone part time. This is a good reason I saved.
Assisted living that DID NOT ASSIST. That’s what they paid for.
This is so unbelievable that an "accident" or a "mistake" seem to be out of the question. And this leaves two possibilities: An attempt at a "joke" that turned deadly, or a deliberate act.
So what I need to ask you is what is this person's name because I can tell you that my daughter Lola Barber tried to give her little brother my son dishwashing soap in a cup of juice one day
Someone is criminally responsible. It’s either intentional (this is the most likely option) or gross negligence. You don’t store poisonous cleaning products alongside food. I would also expect juice to be refrigerated, and dishwasher liquid would not be, so again, I don’t see how it’s even possible that this was accidental. If it was, that is still negligent homicide at the bare minimum. What a disgrace.
Accidentally given soap? Soap is thick? Comes in a soap bottle? Smells like soap??? What am I missing??

If it’s really accidentally, that person gave it is also suffered from dementia or other cognitive disorders

Oh come on. Dishwashing liquid? I have trouble getting my 95 yr old mom to drink Emergen C–"that fake tasting stuff". You have to be nearly dead from Alzheimer's to injest that because you just like the color. They should have biodegradable type dishwashing liquid in a place like that that is non-toxic anyway. Come to think of it, they probably almost exclusively or maybe exclusively use automatic dishwashing detergent and automatic dishwashers. Automatic dishwashing detergent IS more toxic, but often a powder? Would they even have regular dishwashing liquid? It's weird. Totally bizaare story.
Mistake?? They were intentionally poisoned. Outrageous!!! This place should be sued to the point that they have no choice but to shut down. They wouldnt be making excuses if it were their family member who died in such an grossly negligent manner.

I work at an assisted living facility, Sorry,our juices are no where near dishsoap,dishwashers have industrial soap to use…something is definitely not right..
