Not happening, maybe rural everywhere else outside of the US. The majority of customers in the US are city customers with RV's or campers and rural folks from original beta. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of Elon, but he did not fulfill his promise as far as providing internet to rural America first. Those 10000 units sent to the Ukraine would have been awesome in the rural Midwest!
Been using mine Since March 2022 in rural VA. Amazing tech. It doesn't really care about weather unless there's a thunderstorm.
Speeds are definitely slowing down since March but I'm sure they are working on sending up more SATs and making more ground stations. In the mean time i can stream anything i want 100% of the time and game 95% of the time.
Blows Hughsnet and viasat out of the water… I hope it puts them under, they rob you in broad daylight. 😑
Wish FCC would grant SpaceX more money. Instead they give it to failing ISPs such as Zito Media, Comcast, etc. Their tech is proven and reaches the armpits of America. If any of them should get subsidy should be one that does it right.
They can talk to people in space, but I can't internet at the end of my road.🤣

Spacex is the crown jewel of companies. Every country would do anything to have the best and most innovative space company in the world. I hope people in the USA know how lucky they are to have SpaceX.

Starlink could be a game changer for people that would never have access to high speed internet. What about the millions that can't afford it? Elon Musk could do so much good for so many people with this technology. But the reality is, he is the richest person in the world and has given (by percentage) the least amount to charity. Jeff Bezos is the same way. Bill Gates has given more money to charity than anyone in history, and he has less money than the both of them.

In the future low-cost cell phones can be dropped into areas like North Korea, where they might creat a very slow but free data service from starlink circumventing their great firewall.
All that talk about expanding broadband is just talk, starlink is the only option for most rural areas and is VERY expensive for the equipment
Here in miles city mid rivers still charges by the gig should NOT cost 300.00 a month for my toddlers to watch youtube

If they would lower there price to something reasonable Id sign up but over a hundred dollars a month for less than Im getting now at 70 dollars a month is not worth it. Same for his high priced cars.

are True Believers. My understanding is with all those satellites overhead they will ruin ground based telescopy.
No looking into the night sky with optical telescopes because Starlink satellites will be constantly in the way.

Starlink will add billions of people to the online market place, Elon has mentioned making Doge the “currency of earth” and I believe this is apart of that plan.
Two words: Kessler Syndrome. Starlink will create the biggest pile of space junk ever. It makes no economic sense. Each of those tiny satellites will need to be replaced every five years. Do the math.

Our house is 20 miles north of Milwaukee. We're between three pretty decent sized suburban cities, but we're out in the country. We couldn't get any good internet by us even though we are surrounded by cable companies. We tried different dish companies and even tried using our phones as hotspots but we'd be over or monthly data limit after watching one movie. My wife works remote from our house and needed internet connection, so we signed up for Starlink. It works so great. I took down an old tv antennae that I had on my garage but left the pole and attached the Starlink to that. You simply turn on the App, it connects to the satellite and that's it! It's flawless!
