  1. green said this in his recent interview that Ponting's analysis helped him correct his technique mid series

  2. Everybody seems to be into French cricket these days. In the 90s you'd have to bowl a jaffa to get a batsman looking like that. Now it happens all the time – even when they middle the ball.

  3. One of the greatest cricketers and one of the best cricket brains and I'm a pom. Total respect

  4. His front foot should move based on the angle the bowler is bowling from just like Joe Root.
U draw an imaginary line from bowler hand to the leg stump u put you front foot on it with front toe and bat face pointing bowler & your head falling no further than off stump

  5. He’s right about the open stance being very bad at the highest level where you get exposed for the slightest flaw , let alone a big one like this ….. if he gets side on and takes a middle stump guard he will never get out the way he has since he got picked …….in fact he will never get lbws nor caught behind often due to his long reach . He will be able to leave the ball without being clueless about his off stump and also he will be less likely to lean over and misjudge the inswinger let alone anything pitched in line with the stumps …… he will also be able to play the on drive more often rather than the flick off the pads which will get him in trouble if he plays the shot out of his peripheral rather than under his eyes …… the solution is for him to be light on his feet with an initial forward trigger movement so he can push back off the front foot when he needs to go back …. that will give him much more time to play as well as making him use the crease to his advantage so he can get his eyes over the ball more at the point of contact playing straighter in the V …… the same ball that he is hesitant to play will become something he can drive straight back past the bowler ….. like Matthew Hayden he can use his reach advantage and height to negotiate the balls just on fourth and fifth stump to play towards the sight screen without any urge to open the face of the bat unless the fielders were told to position themselves straighter . Hayden was able to manipulate the field just by favouring the on drive and straight drive which made the bowlers give him looser deliveries outside the danger zone . Test cricket batting is all about making the bowler realise he has to bowl to you , not the other way round. Once the bowler gets into the rhythm of bowling to his field that’s one battle lost . The key is to throw them off their routine and the only way to do that is to create a wall when batting not letting the wicketkeeper even see the ball without you in front of his direct line of sight of the trajectory. The way Sachin used to play leg glances to balls just outside the off stump was simply because he wouldn’t let the ball have one single chance of beating him unless he was fully behind the ball so even if he missed it , it would strike his pads outside the line of off stump rendering any appeal useless. Most of his runs came from manipulating the field to bowlers who bowled a tight off stump line but yet he found a way to score off the most dangerous deliveries that normally would get edges towards slips and the keeper . So if a man the size of Sachin can get into position like that then Cameron Green should watch his every move to get an idea of how he can literally dominate due to his height . 🤔🤦💁🏽

  6. He does seem to get his head past the line of his feet as well. That seemed to be his issue last season, and he's "improved" it by opening his stance. He's a great prospect as an all rounder, bowls a decent pace and has racked up the domestic scores.

  7. Ponting is very insightful when it comes to captaincy, tactics and batting techniques he is a wealth of knowledge some of the things he says are very valid and its something I think everyone will listen to as he has gone out there and has been the best batsman and captain(yes he may have inherited a kickass team that Steve waugh built, but you still have to go and won matches never q guarantee the team will do well under a new captain).
I'd say ponting, dravid(the brief time I saw him before he went to coaching) and sangakkara are one of the most insightful commentators I have ever seen. When the commentate or make comments during the play about a batman's technique field placing the viewer gets an automatic understanding they know what they are talking about

  8. Ashes is only one sided. No fight from the opposition, they look lost.

  9. Clearly suggest that he keep getting bowled in the progress of defending himself from LBW.. I would say he should focus on his foot work cover block off stump .. try to play cover drive or even can cut the loose delivery let him try this even if get himself out by LBW it's ok rather exposing his off stump for bowler easy wicket .. once he cover off stump force bowler bowl outside the off stump.. make bats easy to think about his short selection .. he must get away form frozen shoulder stiff body.. playing like tail ended try to survey 🥲he is potential legitimate batsmen must play his natural game free only way he fix his mistake by taking risk .. ..

  10. God he knows the game so well

  11. Hey Punter any advice for my fellow Pommies? If we're gonna lose 5-0 lets at least have some closer games

  12. I’d bat Green 5 and Head 6. Would help them both.

  13. Cameron Green definitely will come up to ponting and ask for advice and help him with his technique. It's similar to when ponting predicts shaw dismissal

  14. Cameron Green should look at Jason Holder. Similar heights, similar roles and similar styles. Holder actually stands a bit with an open stance

  15. He should be given a doctorate Dr.ponting

  16. Wish he was England coach.

  17. They criticised Khawaja for "not scoring" but yet don't say anything about Green. Seems a bit silly.

  18. Where's Sachin with his batting tips? Surely the greatest batsman that's ever lived can write the treatise on 'how to bat' and that book will make him a billionaire.

  19. cricket is a side on game not a front on game

  20. Genius, now that's extraordinary when a player can detect a fault in the technique of another player and recommend possible fixation. Genius

  21. Green gotta fix that problem in his technique

  22. One of the greatest cricketing mind.

  23. Obviously Ponting's far more of an expert than I am, but didn't Green actually open his stance during the India series last year in order to combat the LBW, and the run of Shield form that initially got him in the side was with much more of a square/closed stance?

So seems to me like the Australian coaches told Green to open his stance halfway through the India series, and now Punter's saying he should go back to a closed stance. If people hadn't messed with a 21 year old gun's technique after 2 games in the first place, would we even be here? So frustrating.

  24. Green and Robinson not able to bat at international lv

  25. Nothing wrong with standing open. It gives you balance and control. If Green goes to side on then he'll start falling over his front pad

  26. Ricky pls help green to correct his stance

  28. Rubbish fix. Do you know how many times Smith has got out around his legs on leg stump and caught behind on leg side.

  29. So Pontings actually the coach, and Alfie the puppet

  30. Bhai thanks Sare one sided clean sweep karwane ke liye♥️♥️

  31. Bhai thanks Sare one sided clean sweep karwane ke liye♥️♥️

  32. If green watchs this he needs to go to punter and just say help. Throw me balls all day. I can see green being a great all rounder but his batting isn't helping him atm

  33. Ponting was good but horrible player of spin

  34. Bring back Mitchell Marsh To Test matches.

  35. Love these short videos from ponting.

  36. Should stand upright and cut his shuffle a bit with a long stride forward.

  37. I could listen to Punters analysis all day! Very insightful!

  38. Both the ball means the ball in 1st test and 2nd test was so similar means the top of the off stump , even where good batsman fails to defend . I said it's tooo unlucky for Green 😌🥲🥺💖
