Former President Trump’s lawyers Monday asked a federal judge to continue blocking the Justice Department from reviewing documents marked as classified that were seized during the FBI’s search of Mar-a-Lago last month. The filing argues that the DOJ had to prove the documents were classified. “There’s so many confusing arguments in that pleading,” said NBC News Legal Analyst Carol Lam.

The judge should have never put retraints on the classified documents. Judges should not be ABLE to do such thing. The abilility to put our National Security in jeopardy to statisfy an accused, is inexcusable and an abuse of power. Cannon should be held accountable for her egreious mis-use of her position. I find the judge and the defendants using politics to excuse their decisions, accusations, presumptions and manuverings just that – an excuse. Fortunately, they have yet to come up with an 'excuse' as to 1) why the documents were stolen in the first place and 2) the obstruction and lies. As pointed out by others, no one is pressuring Trump to answer the one question we're all asking which is WHY DID HE HAVE THEM? If it's not such a big deal as his attorneys are insisting (over-due library book, storage issue spiraled out of hand) why is that one question not being answered? My guess is the answer (they're mine!) implicates Trump in the other investigation – the attempt to stop the transfer of power. And it looks like he intends on seeing that happen no matter what.

Couldn’t the FBI or NARA or whatever agencies knew that these documents were still outstanding, just continue to work the case on THEIR own copies of the documents. The Judge’s orders are that they can’t “use these documents”, that doesn’t mean they can’t look at other (exactly the same/similar) documents. There isn’t just one copy of the documents. In a divorce/custody case both parties get copies of all the documents. If one parent misplaces their documents, that doesn’t mean the orders can’t still be followed, it means they look at copies of the same documents.

Knowingly Removing Classified Information Is Within Itself A Crime Regardless Of Whether The Documents Are Top Secret Or Not.
When Mr. Trump was no longer president and left the White House, he knowingly took boxes of over 11,000 government classified documents to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, which is a crime to remove national defense information from its “proper place of custody”. This is a violation of the Presidential Records Act.
Now there is a video circulating on the web in which Trump and his staff appear to be removing 8 boxes of government classified documents from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida to a private plane heading to to his resort in Bedminster, New Jersey on May 8th 2021, before the FBI search of Mar-a Lago.

Mind you, it is interesting how mainstream media did not cover this story.
Trump's intent has been proven over and over again when he refused to turn over the documents when requested multiple times. Then his moving some of these stolen documents from one state to another.
The proof of possession and control of the documents was provided during all of the negotiations between Trump, the National Archives, the DOJ, and the FBI.
This whole conversation about whether or not Mar-A-Lago is secure or not, who had access to these documents, the national security implications, why Trump wanted these documents in the first place, the questioning of if Trump knowingly took these classified documents, and the question of whether or, not Trump committed obstruction or not, Trump's intentions, if he had possession of these documents, or if The Office of National Intelligence finds these documents classified or not, is all irrelevant. These documents were in Mar-A-Lago illegally in the first place. These conversations are all smoke and mirrors and have little to do with anything. In my opinion, the Asia Janay Lavarello case in which she knowingly removed classified information in July 2021, is exactly the crime Trump committed.
This is August 2022 and she has already been tried, convicted, and is now incarcerated. As to the double standards, she did not receive all of the niceties of several requests and the special treatment Trump received.
DOJ's job is to follow the law to where ever it may lead. There are no exceptions within the law or the constitution for a president of the United States or anyone else being above the law or any considerations or regard as to the reactions of political parties or constituents.
DOJ errored with their policies, which is not law, to not indict a sitting president, or for giving any credence to the timing of elections. These considerations are irrelevant to the facts of a case.
America needs a public shaming list. Dumps name at the top and add all his cronies, add this crooked judge and store it in National archives so future generations can see.

If the documents are normal business, and he has nothing to worry about, then why a new filing. He is holding the whole Intelligence Community hostage. This is a huge national security issue, and it shouldn't wait 90 days. As unfortunate as this sounds, the President needs to get involved (not in the case itself) to help remove barriers to allow the assessment of the security risk of missing 'GOVERNMENT OWNED PROPERTY".
