Executives at Starbucks met with investors in Seattle to roll out their new reinvention business plan while hundreds of people protested outside in support of union workers. Some baristas from unionized locations are demanding better pay and working conditions as the company offers expanded benefits but only to non-union employees. NBC News’ Joshua Johnson reports.

Another game by the MBA's. They were trained that employees are a cost. They cannot conceive of giving workers a seat at the table, paying a living wage, with benefits to all. But in the USA we refuse to legislate a living wage for workers. How workers rights should be equal to investors rights when a corporation is as big as Starbucks.
If all you can do for a living is to make coffee for rich people . . . sucks to be you. No sympathy for Starbuck's owners, customers or employees. Sorry, can't relate. I make my own coffee.

Someone should tell Starbuck's employees they have a right to wipe off the tables! They used to do that a lot!. I can't even remember the last time I saw a Starbucks employee wipe off a table. Seems to be the customer's job now.

Elections have consequences and this is proof, Is this coming to your liberal state soon? On January 1st 2023 in the state of Illinois the following things will go into effect. You will no longer have to post cash bail for 12 offenses. These includes second degree murder, aggravated battery, arson, drug induced homicide, kidnapping, burglary, robbery, intimidation, aggravated DUIs, aggravated fleeing, eluding, drug offenses and threatening a public official. Offenders released on electronic monitoring have to be in violation for 48 hours before law enforcement can act. Also, officers will nolonger be able to remove trespassers from your businesses or homes, all the police can do is give them a ticket. It will now be up to you to decide what level of force is required to remove them and whether or not it's legal.

You have more rights under union. U can cuss out your manager and not deal with any repercussions. That’s how strong unions are. More and more fast food, restaurants and coffee place near union.

Unions aren’t always good but Starbucks needs it. I went to apply as a returning partner, store manager hired me, but then took four weeks to finally give me a schedule which was for two weeks out from there. Then I got an email from the store manager saying my application had expired. This was 5 weeks after they ran my background check. There’s not accountability for management. Often times it’s the shift leads running the stores even though they make less than half of what the store managers do. Most of the time I go you can tell they don’t calibrate the shots whatsoever and it’s burnt
Yea I remember they tried this stuff on Pizza Hut too, look how Pizza Hunt CEO responded, Machines replacing people. Baristas don't watch out they will be replaced too.
