NBC is trying to show us that not all "Christians" are like this 'crazy' pastor and that he doesn't represent Christianity. So they show us this lady claiming to be a Christian pastor with opposing views. Fair enough lets see what the bible says. Everything that Pastor Wilson preaches I can find in the bible. As for the other lady not so much. First of all the bible says women can't be pastors (1 Timothy 2:12). The bible mentions MANY TIMES in both old and new testaments that homosexuality is a sin ( Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13 , Romans 1:24-32, 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 1 Timothy 1:10). Also Jesus affirmed that marriage is between one man and one woman (Matthew 19:5). It seems to me like this woman is making her own rules and proceeds to call her religion 'Christianity'.

It is difficult to find a newspaper or TV channel that is not biased against the principles that Christianity stands for. It is laughable to compare "Christian Nationalism" as they call it with the Taliban. I think the main reason behind this kind of rhetoric is to scare people away and give their votes to the left. Because elections area around the corner they think this will help the leftist cause.
How many brands of religions are there in America? Are the christians going to revert to their old ways of "killing" those who do not buy their dogmatic ideology? Jesus told his disciples in his time lime to preach the "good news." "The kingdom of god is at hand," within the person, not in some stone structure. If no one stands up to people like him, he and his ilk will win.
The important thing to understand about this entire topic is that these fanatics are not Christians. They are Christianists. Christianists are to Christianity as Islamists are to Islam. These loonies do not represent or reflect the teachings of Christ in any way.

How do archaic religious points of view matter? In the bigger historical picture your view does not matter. Do you think atheists and scientists care what you think as much as you care about what threatens your beliefs? Should people develop critical thinking skills as young as possible?
Look for the beauty of life and reasons to live without religion. We only have one life so make it count. Why were the events of anything in the bible not written down by first hand accounts? Look back at your life and how many times did prayer work? How many prayers were answered by the millions of women and children that die or suffer from abuse each year? How many prayers are answered in a children's hospital? How did so many atrocities occur in the name of a god and not one god stop it? How were women treated horribly in the bible? Why do you believe? How did animals come along before plants? How did the Earth have empty oceans or even exist before the Sun was created? There has not been a global flood on this planet. How much better would the world be if Christians, Jews, and Muslims were not fighting?
Is the bible the only source of morality? Are the 2.2 billion Christians in the world the majority? There are about 5.1 billion people ages 15-64. Are the vast majority of people in the world that are not Christians not moral? Even animals have empathy.
This type of reporting is the exact reason why I am no longer an atheist or a liberal. The amount of lies that come out of their mouths about Doug Wilson's beliefs is astounding and what the Bible literally says.
Why cant these Christians be happy living their own lives and leave others alone?

The US was a place of refuge for those fleeing religious persecution; they wanted the freedom of self-governance, and to practice their own religion. Later, the FFs wrote religious liberty (freedom of and from) into the constitution. Regardless of their political beliefs, they made it separate from the government which is how it should be. If you want to live under theocratic rule, check out Iran or Saudi Arabia.

Thomas Jefferson wrote about “a wall of separation between the church and state” in response to the Danbury Baptist Association who was afraid that Congregationalism would become the official religion of the United States. Thus, he framed the First Amendment, so that the FEDERAL government would not establish (that is, *coerce*) a federal religion. It did not apply to the states, who were allowed to have official religions, until 1947.
