A judge is clearing the prison sentence for a 17-year-old Iowa girl who stabbed and killed her alleged rapist. NBC News’ Maya Eaglin reports on how the girl is still facing consequences including a $150,000 payment to the alleged rapist’s family.

How can anyone protect oneself if the system that was created to help is corrupted. I know it’s not related but I have a story I want to share . Years ago I was targeted by someone and I got hurt , I called the police on the individual yet I was the one who got arrested. The charges were dropped once they realized I was innocent. The person fled and I never heard from them again . It feels like women aren’t being heard anymore . it feels like the human race is damned .

As someone who was trafficked and almost murdered I can say I planned out his murder in my head multiple times but I had children and knew the consequences of killing him…but I will say killing him in his sleep was probably the only option and I would have stabbed him 50 times! Make sure he isn't ever getting back up!!! When that kind of thing happens to you it's all fear based, and making sure he doesn't get up is the goal

PBS Newhour latest said there was a GoFundMe for Pieper. Talk about a sharp stick in the eye to the judge and prosecutor. Not only will she have money to pay the family of the perpetrator, but money to begin anew. I hope she goes back to school, gets her degree and becomes a victims advocate. That would hands down be the best outcome. By making a difference in this world for other’s who have gone through what she has. Hugs and blessings sent this young woman’s way…..
