$30K Aptera EVs with solar charging – 40 miles charged from sun. Perfect for sunny California. California in very unique position to take advantage of solar compared to Europe. Can’t compare EUrope to California. I haven’t had a utility bill for two years since installing solar – my EV charges for free off solar as well.
Can’t see this solar revolution happening in Midwest or east but California is uniquely positioned.

The bill is national security policy. The primary goal of the bill is to prevent China from continuing to dominate what will be resource required for national security, batteries. There are already tons of lithium ion batteries in military war fighting gear and that will only increase over time. The military already uses solar on forward operating basis with batteries to reduce fuel transport needs. The bill subsidized solar manufacturing and battery manufacturing in the US and free trade Allie’s. It also subsidizes mining and refining of battery and solar materials. It’s industrial national security policy aimed at China. Getting consumers to buy electric cars is a bi-product not the primary goal. The goal is national security so that the US has its own solar and battery manufacturing and is not reliant on China in the future. Just like the goal of the CHIP act is to get more chip manufacturing in the US. This is about national security.
Wtf is an editor for a legal society being asked about electric cars instead of an engineer? Is he an economist? A financial expert? Like wtf is anyone talking to this guy about this topic?
