Uh, yeaH…. regardless of current politics it is a historical fact that the Demoractic party backed workers in many Northern states including coal mining states like West Virginia and Kentucky in the late 19th and early 20th century when they were trying to organize unions to get decent wages and conditions from the big bosses. The Republicans were all big business and sent in the military to break up strikes and also the FBI to violently break up union meetings, which had to be organized in secret. I knew a woman from Eastern Kentucky who went to school at the same schoolhouse as Lyretta Lynn (Coal Miner's Daughter). Only she went to the school before Loretta Lynn. She used to tell me about the way they had to hide from the Feds that Republicans sent. They Feds used machine guns. My eldelrly friend cursed the Repulbican party until the day she died at 94 years old age. When said one thing supportive of GW Bush after 9/11 she turned against me and never said anything nice to me again.
