I like the fact that pitches are competitive and have something there for the bowlers. Not like the dry, hard pitches of yore where you could score a ton of runs for three days and the pitch started to breakdown mid day 4.
I think it diminishes the luck of the toss and gives all players in the team a bigger role. It also makes the batters 50 or 100 a bigger accomplishment than hard, flat piches
Steve Smith … <rubs chin> …. balls seaming a lot …. nah, there's absolutely no connection
How you never seen.. See the MOHAMMAD ASIF BOWLED TO VVS LAXMAN.. your are cheating or your haven't enough knowledge about cricket history..
Joe Root is a GOAT . Change my mind ❤️❤️❤️
Root: "pitches… You've got to manage them better than the opposition, and so far we've not quite managed that.." Therein lies their problem, they're in denial
Steve smith is lucky he never faced Wasim and Waqar , if he did he knew what seam and movement really is.
Not quite managed that root? You got FLOGGED.. Lucky it wasn't 5 nil. Worst English openers ever
Restore Perth to pre 1988 level…
Wickets these days are loaded too much in the favour of bowlers. Its ridiculous. Most tests end in less than 4 days.
You never faced the True Bowling GREATS of the 80's and 90's!! That's why!! These Greats would clean you up!!
Bounce + Swing
Love this Cricket, brings back memories when I was younger, exiting, Lovely, this is the way I love the Pitches
Australian pace attack 🤯
lol.. with license to use sand paper and sugar… you are right mate…
enjoy till caught again… and will be forgiven again…
enjoy this joke called …. lol
Pat Cummins is the best Aussie Test bowler I have seen.
“Not quite managed that” is the understatement of the year.
So Smith is admiring to ball tampering?
Whose the root of England's performance problems?
Mcg pitch always underrated…. nothing special…..
Asif when he got Laxman in the Pak v India test match..that was some movement..he would make the ball talk.
nothing like a little sandpaper to make it seam
Than you lucky smith you never face mohammad asif .
Yeah sure you have Steve. Remember when u, Warner and bangs ‘ worked’ the ball in SA a few seasons back ? It swung a mofo on that tour not so ?? Idiot.
This is boring
Sandpaper and other stuff?
Maybe you guys are cheating again
I can tell u Pat is using Hacks
Smith just hatched out of his shell, if that is the most he has seen a cricket ball swing.
Joke of the year never seen seem like patt did…shaheen afridi knock out rahul in swing in dead flat pitch of dubai…assume if he bowl in this seeming condition
Root must go.
what is the difference between australia and england pitch…both england and australia plays swing and bounce well, how come england is struggling
Hats off to india 😍
Smith needs to go look at Asif's bowling then he would know what seam movement is
I think u r nt. Follow cricket
Patty is always besty 😍😍

Junaid Khan vs India 2012 ODI series.
Best Seam bowling I have seen.
And of course entire career of Muhammad Asif.
Not quite managed that Joe, that’s an understatement mate. And your latest duck is an example.
If swing is not a problem.. Why complain about spinning in india
You forget asif?????????????
Bangladeshi seamere should play in Big Bash at any cost, they've the talent, what is needed is just a push
Yeah he probably didn't see Shikha' delivery
Much being said about the condition of this and other pitches and English comments that pitches of past were greatly different. And so were the pitches before that. Don't forget we are coming out of some long drought years and deep watering of these fake paddocks is not what it was. The drainage systems under these grounds is unvelievanle. Gone is the Bulli soil of the original SCG square (and MCG?). Today's wickets are mostly dropins constructed in laboratory like conditions with "soils" blended to a formula. Also it was stated that Kookaburra have been experimenting with the composition of the ball lacquers to try matching Duke's ball.
Also there was not as much AFL / NRL or other football codes played on the surface in the recent year…lots of variables there.
Lol Asif, Anderson, waqar, wasim and amir are confused right now with smiths statement
Who ever rated ashes high he needs some mri check ..its a one sided competition aus always over power on eng
