I am English and to be honest I do not think anyone in the UK would be bothered if all common wealth countries dropped out. I daubt if it would raise an eyebrow.
I don’t think anyone in Monarchy will oppose those countries who wish to leave the commonwealth.
I think he already apologised as did Prince William.
It is a shame that they want to link compensation in the form of money now, since their countries would not be where they are today without the influence that Britain has had in their growth over the years.

It's a completely voluntary diplomatic organisation that was set up after the British Empire to maintain relations and trade and has continued to grow over the decades. No nation is required to have the British monarch as head of state, nor are they ruled by Britain. They are all completely independent and it's 100% their choice who is their head of state and whether they remain a member. Ex-colonial countries that have removed the monarchy like Barbados, India or Pakistan have remained in the commonwealth by choice because it benefits them through close relations with the other members, among many other reasons. The Commonwealth has even grown beyond ex-colonial countries with various nations that were never colonised by Britain asking to join…
So the commonwealth is not some continuation of empire or British imperialism as many portray it as, but quite the opposite. It's about democracy and diplomacy as equal partners. Perhaps if the media wasn't so desperate to get clicks, more people would be rid of the delusion

Moreover, World organization such as UN, United Nations was helped founded, with cleverly drawn charters, by the West; only after they have had enough of practicing centuries-long global Slavery, Colonization and Colonialism; in such a way so as to;

Stories like this are in such bad taste at this moment in time. As an Aussie, well we wouldn't exist if it weren't for England, just like the rest of the monarchy. Slavery is a poor excuse to become a republic. Different times different social convections so who are to speak for the past when we have no clue what it would have been like to live in those conditions. You can't undo history it's just not right.

the reason these countries are in no hurry to change is they understand this connection also provides status and additional revenue into the country. there is a support network and advice mutually shared. There fast track graduate programs this supplies these nations with some of the brightest minds. education probably needs to shift its priorities to creativity and less on formula knowledge – the future looks very bright for these countries

America should take a look at it's own history around the invasion of other countries, Cuba and the Phillipines is a good starting point and maybe the bombing of Laos.
