There is a renewed threat of a freight rail strike after members of the country’s third-largest rail union rejected the tentative national agreement rolled out by the White House last month. The BMWED, which represents the workers who build and maintain railroad tracks, is suggesting a possible strike date of November 19th.

What people don't get is this strike is not about money its about us actually getting time off at home we spend days away from home at a time and then get 10 hours at home before we are gone again then if we take an unpaid day off we have to work 14 days straight on call 24/7 to get the "points" back so we can take another un paid day off I myself have worked 10 of the last 11 days and the only days I didn't work I was in a hotel a state away from my family for over 20 hours and the companies consider this time spent trapped with no transport or easy access to even food as time off
