Can you even get hurricane insurance? If so, anyone know how much it costs in FL?
As someone who has evacuated at least 5 times due to different major storms in TX in the last 20 years (Rita, Ike (did that one pregnant), Harvey (with a 2 yr old), etc)… I can tell you it is super expensive. Even if get to stay with family, you still need food, gas, going through 20 hour traffic jams, getting medicine, may be limited access to cash due to your bank or pay check, IT IS A NIGHTMARE!! Any Hurricane alley survivor will tell, we do it to save lives. Because staying will get u a trip to the ER or the morgue. #GoodLuckFL #Ian

Hurricane Ian hit like an atom bomb
Consuming the helpless in it's path.
The waters of the deep surged forth
Flooding everything with it's wrath.
The best of the brave was seen by man
While rescue crews were helping others.
They risked their life and laid it on the line
To save our sisters and brothers.
May heaven show mercy upon the lost
Never to love, laugh, sing or cry
God bless every man, woman and child
Who before their time had to die.
Tears are the raindrops of the soul

Oh bs! A tank of gas to save your life isn’t much cost. Everything else can be dealt with later. I don’t ever recall mass starvation or even minor starvation from anyone fleeing a hurricane. Media with its bs all the time.
