We have a process and it's being ignored. Asylum rules clearly state that seekers go to the nearest, safe country if they are under threat due to the conditions in their home countries (e.g. war, famine, disaster). Instead, they shop for the best welfare system and just show up on our doorstep. Meanwhile, legal immigrants face years of hoops to jump through, and they're the folks that want to bring their talents and culture to the US and be part of it, vs. just sponge off our social safety network. I agree immigration processes need to be streamlined, but there has to be some vetting of people coming across our borders. It's ludicrous garbage to suggest we just let people walk in and ask no questions. These people should be sent back to their home countries.
