I see a lot of remarks about these DACA recipients being lazy about not pursuing citizenship, but let’s be clear: there’s no clear path to citizenship for them! DACA recipients have to become green card holders first before they even become eligible for citizenship. And getting the green card is what’s tough for them. They either have to have a US relative that can petition for them, or have an employer petition for them, or be a victim of certain crimes in order to qualify for a green card. And even then, their unlawful status will bar them from getting the green card. No clear path!

For those of yall blaming them 20 years and never applied for citizenship. I know you born Americans, but you must have a permanent residency in another words green card for 5 years or 3 years if u married to United States citizen. You need to have a legal status in order to apply for green card.
The law needs to change. Dems love to talk about abortion laws or labor laws in Europe but what about immigration laws? Most countries in Europe including, Spain, Germany, France, Sweden, Finland (Countries that Dems love to talk about) You can only be citizen if you have at least 1 parent a citizen, Not a resident or a green card holder. You cannot immigrate to Europe like in the US. You can only immigrate ONLY if you have a Skill that the country needs (for example nurses ) and if you can immigrate only with your spouse and underage child. The US let's you eventually bring your siblings, parents, children even if they are over 21 and they can bring their spouse and children in turn. That's what needs to happen in the US. Unfortunately the world has changed and we cannot be what we used to be in the past, just like many ways of life and things that were taboo or wrong are not so anymore.
