Ukraine has EARNED their right to NATO membership and I STRONGLY believe that it will be granted as soon as this war ends. Reminder to those who aren’t aware, Biden in 2014 as the Vice President, proposed Ukraine be given membership in to NATO after PUTIN’S Russia invaded Crimea. Ultimately it got no where and was overruled by certain allies as they weren’t interested in “elevating the threat and tensions with Russia”. They sited it as causing turmoil with PUTIN (aka having to find alternative GAS suppliers vs their cheap Russian Energy of a meal ticket). Those same certain European’s were Germany, France, Turkey, Hungary and Bulgaria just to name a few few. They used excuses like it would “escalate tensions with Russia” 🙄🥴😏 yet hypocritically that’s after PUTIN HAD JUST INVADED UKRAINIAN TERRITORIES so that’s simply ridiculous hypocrisy. Accepting Ukraine into NATO AFTER THIS WAR IS OVER IS AN EFFECTIVE WAY OF GIVING UKRAINE A STRONG SECURITY GUARANTEE. A peace agreement will ultimately be what ends this war BUT there will need to be clear cut terms and signatory’s that make Ukraine feel comfortable and will deter Putin from attempting this again as it would be a catastrophic decision to Russia with an Article 5 invoked. The easiest, most effective, and powerful deterrent is NATO’S ARTICLE 5 which as we all know the moto “an attack on one, is an attack on all” and puts 32 other countries on your ass, directly involved. It makes sense on multiple levels and I am more than confident we will see Ukraine become the 33rd member of NATO after PUTIN’S WAR OF CHOICE IS OVER and Ukraine is VICTORIOUS!
