  1. With remote work an option to some people, Americans still choose it wrongly. You literally have the prime opportunity to move to somewhere where you can walk to a grocery store in 15 minutes and do some exercises while carrying those grocery items (instead of paying for the stupid gym membership). Making cars optional is the only future we can have, no room for discussion.

It makes even more sense if you have children: you want your children grow up in a walkable community, or in a car-dependent community (where a child can't learn how to be independent until they have a DL)?

  2. Toronto has terrible traffic. What I can't understand is why there is so much traffic on weekends. It's good in the morning but by 5pm it might as well be a weekday. I work shifts and I`ll be stuck in traffic on a Saturday or Sunday evening wondering why all these people chose to be in this traffic.

  3. Self imposed torture. Commuters decide not to take public transit but drive, so what do they expect? Freeways aren't going to magically become 10 lanes in each direction. Anyway, my commute has only been about two miles for the past 11 years. Sometimes I walk it, but most of the time I just drive down an empty street to my office. Total time: About 5 minutes, and this is in Los Angeles. 🙂

  4. This is all so that oil companies and commercial real estate can turn profits. Meanwhile your employer and those companies turn profits you will make less paying for high gas and with inflation. I think we all saw that most companies are more efficient working remotely.

  5. Back to work minions!!

  6. It’s good to invest with well and trustworthy licensed broker I had been profitable to work with Maskoffweb service

  8. Chicago got a "good" mass transit system. Just imagine if it didn't.

  9. This can't be good. Especially if you considered the environmental impact. So COVID gave us some buying time to fix things!

  10. Red lights and stops signs should be replaced with roundabouts in Chicago. This traffic is getting out of hand. People are also clogging up the side streets and jamming those up too. Some go as far as jamming up the shoulders!

  11. When a NBC reporter from LA or NYC flies to Chicago and realizes we actually have worse traffic than them lol. Yeah Chicago's traffic is a mess. Any time, every day of the week, sidewalks get jammed up too especially Downtown and North Side

  12. We need to start adequately funding public transport. No one wants to ride on run down buses and trains that are slower than driving

  13. LOOKS LIKE EVERYONE IS LEAVING CALIFORNIA, IT RUSH HOUR TO GET OUT!!!!!!!

  14. this horrifying paradigm is sustainable in the short run. gotta keep those office managers happy.

  15. Yeah now they want to add tolls on the city Chicago expressways don't they think they tax and toll enough enough is enough enough

  16. Hey just stop using the cellphone ashl

  17. This shouldn't surprise anyone, really. In the US the only thing we have more of than guns are cars – a return to 'normative' ways as were done pre-Covid will include the glut of individual vehicles.

  18. CORRUPT CORPORATE CENSORING COMMENTS AND BLOGGING IS MURDER THAT LEADS TO THE CAUSE OF DEATH ….LAW ….. CORPORATE BLOGGERS censor DOCTORS FOR the GREATER TRUTH ARE MURDERS also

  19. It’s only going to get worse. Especially when people having 10 kids a Family. Try and process that you do the math. Always someone having a baby always someone new on the road life. We’re not meant to be congested or confined.

  20. Yeah, I believe the traffic is made during the afternoon because the remote workers are shopping on the clock. Must be nice!

  21. Get a scooter (🛵, not 🛴) or a motorcycle and start splitting lanes. Very simple. Private cars with a single occupant don't belong in cities. Individual people should use individual transportation.

  22. Pre and post pandemic, my office is still 10 minutes away, REVERSE COMMUTE.

  23. Why can't I see any bus in US?

  24. Make filtering and splitting legal and watch this decrease.

  25. All have bad traffic and dating life, this world is crumbling, now people will ride scooters on the shoulders

  26. I now live in Europe (and, live happily without a car) but, when I lived in SF and worked in East Oakland, I got up at 430 and left for work at 5 am to avoid the nightmare on the Bay Bridge. It was glorious. I got to work early (school teacher), used the copy machine, planned lessons and drank coffee. At 7, I was ready to work and not stressed. Change your schedule. That is one choice.

  27. Work from your car. It's modern

  28. I live in Chicago. Traffic is bad because people choose to travel down the most congested streets and highways. There are plenty of alternative routes that people NEVER use here. I know this because I use those alternate routes all of the time.

  29. Uhhh it’s not safe for public transit

  30. It’s like this in Pittsburgh uhhhh just let ppl work from home

  31. Oh, I thought you were going to start your own home business selling catnip in different containers. What happened? Crawling back.

  32. Remote worker for life now. Never going back 💪 and scooter for the neighborhood 🛵 for quick errands
