He has a point about something though. Why do we have the death penalty? It’s been a thing for thousands of years and clearly isn’t a strong deterrent.

With all due respect to the families, the chances of Nicolas actually getting executed on death row are really, really slim. In most cases prisoners stay in death row for almost two decades or longer. Within this time, the families are only going to be retraumatized more through appeals and retrials. Many die of other causes before they reach execution day. He was going to rot in prison either way.
In the providence of God, Cruz’s life was spared – God has given him space to repent! In contrast, the 17 victims were not spared, and have gone to their eternal reward(many unprepared to meet their maker). The proximate cause was heinous act of Cruz the remote cause was God. Nothing is outside God’s decretive purpose or control. God uses sinners to punish other sinners. The doctor is outraged at the death of his daughter, but she was not innocent -she was born depraved and sinful just like Cruz –just like of all of us!! The doctor can rage that Cruz die a short and painful life but that’s not his prerogative – were these young victims prepared for death? Or were they brought up as decent heathens despising God and the weak, living for transient earthly success and materialism.
I think in the old days he’d have been lynched or had the firing squad. And further back the guillotine.

How is the death penalty not ok for an unborn, unknown fetus no matter what the woman forced to carry it feels, but it's ok for a known, loved (by somebody) adult, no matter how atrocious their actions?? What he did is horrible and nothing will bring back these families loved ones. If we're gonna be pro-life, let's uphold pro-life and abolish the death penalty for all, unborn and born.

Life in prison is a better punishment than death let him live with what he’s done rather than you kill him believing in this is justified eye for n eye.. sry won’t change the future sometimes something can be learned to avoid such things happening my opinion..
