15 million barrels of oil won’t do much. 1 barrel of oil is equivalent to 42 gallons of oil. There is 228.2 million licensed drivers (this excludes those driving without a driver’s license and or insurance). With all that said, if we do simple math, 15 million barrels of oil is the same as saying 630 million gallons of oil. So that means if everyone were to tap in using one vehicle, each person on average would get 2.76 gallons of oil. A typical car utilizes anywhere from 12-35 gallons of gas for a fill up.
