  15. Exactly! Everyone in the US is here because an immigrant decided to come over! Unless you are a native American, of course. So if everyone gets a chance to be here because of an immigrant, why not this man and his future descendents?

  16. I pray he gets the chance to stay and help his family.

  29. A while back I got to know a coworker who got his U.S. citizenship, he is from Mexico. He told me he and others were told they could go to CA to pick produce, they would be paid $12 hr., have nice accommodations, would be provided 3 good meals a day and have a good job. He said when they arrived, their accommodations were one trailer to be shared by several people, 1 meal a day, limited water and they worked 12 hr. shifts in the hot sun with no break, where there were only outhouses, no plumbing. I'll never forget the look in his eyes when he told me his story. He said Americans don't understand that they were promised a good life here, only to find the worst conditions when they arrived. They weren't provided showers to bathe and people spit on them and called them unspeakable names. He told me quietly, they had all come to the U.S. to have a better life.
My heart goes out to this man who endured something so horrific, it defies description. It is deeply tragic we live in a world where human trafficking exists and where hideous treatment of others is tolerated.
