Let's see, we isolated for 2 years and covered our faces everywhere we went. Washed everything we brought in the house, slathered ourselves with hand sanitizer and lowered our immunity system from lack of exposure. THEN, we put sneeze magnets (we called them that before covid) back in over crowded, understaffed class rooms and are actually shocked when they get sick? That's not even asking the question if they've been vaccinated or not.

Half the country lived in a plastic bubble for almost 2 years. What was once a common virus and/or bacteria that people had a built immunity to are now unrecognized new threats. Throw the fact that people have become acclimated to using any sniffle as a reason to skip work or school and voila!
