The family of Erik Cantu spoke publicly for the first time about the 17-year-old and his slow recovery after he was shot by a police officer in a San Antonio McDonald’s parking lot. Ben Crump, who is representing the family, alleges Officer James Brennand racially profiled Cantu and confused him for a suspect evading police from an unrelated incident.

The kid brought it on himself, like with most of these incidents, although I'm not sure why shooting him was the response……..the kid fled this same cop earlier, so the cop walked up to his door to confront him, and the kid just tries to drive off?……..he starts backing out of the parking spot and trying to flee………not normal, wouldn't have been shot otherwise.
Don't resist arrest, don't flee the scene, that's the first thing that would have solved 95% of "police brutality" incidents………and they usually would have gotten away with light punishment too.
I can't think of a single person who is just driving along, passes a cop who's parked off to the side, the cop then pulls away and gets behind them and the first thing they do is say "Oh thank God a police officer is behind me watching my back. I hope he follows me home." Not. A. One.

I saw the original video. Things need to happen to this cop if justice is not served. He basically had a bruised ego, thought he saw the suspect that caused it, and wanted revenge.

He didn't profile the kid, because he couldn't see the kid. He profiled the car and approached the situation like a terrorist. He escalated the confrontation with that officer, why did he do that?
A vehicle absolutely is a deadly weapon & the officer potentially saved lives considering the reckless way he reacted using his vehicle as a weapon.

Hold everyone accountable for their actions, not just the officer. Otherwise all you're doing is setting more people up to do the same things and get the same results, putting innocents lives at risk.
