  1. It’s not just the pandemic because China experienced the pandemic as well, and maybe more so. This gap is because while our kids are learning critical race theory and gender identity, in China, their kids are learning physics, calculus, trigonometry, chemistry, etc…It’s no wonder Chinese kids are so much more advanced that our kids! That’s alarming, and a national security risk! I blame the woke, progressive education system in this country.

  2. Aren't lower scores good for Equity ?

  3. All those drag queen story hours didn't help their math scores ??

    Who knew

  4. In my 50s I currently re-enrolled in two different colleges simultaneously before the pandemic and I am a business owner for the last 30 years.

Now after the pandemic what instructors are left teaching and the classes that were moved online or a joke most are literally a laughable pathetic remnant especially wear hands on one on one learning is needed for most students.

San Francisco city College was shut down into my first year of electronic engineering degree Laney College Oakland traid school commercial HVAC degree program was shut down while I was attending.

When they re-opened and tried online learning in limited rotation in class learning was a sad pathetic excuse of a attempt just to pass students that were definitely not ready impossible through the classes the learning was a sham it was a waste of money and students time.

I can tell you for a fact I would not and will not hire any of the students graduating from these classes they have been stripped down far below the bare minimum and teachers are forced to pass students that would never pass before chess because it’s required.

I myself want to become an instructor in college courses and I have been offered through the administration three different jobs at three different colleges and it’s really sad and pathetic to see how low the education system has sunk and degraded to such low standards being a adult who has re-enrolled in college to see how the system works and better educate myself in a few technical fields do you have a different perspective when you’re going to class daily and seeing what it’s really like inside compared to the lies that are told to our media and supervisor board of administrators in the education system.

How truly incompetent our California school board is and the individuals involved in promoting the lie will never make light in the media there needs to be some mass layoffs in the highest levels of our education system

  5. Reading books doesn't make you smarter. Reading smart books makes you smarter. Reading dumb books makes you dumber.

  6. First, it is an absolute provable fact that the stupidest college students go into education (with the exception of social work). Secondly, it is an absolute fact that the teachers unions stand in the way of education as we have seen, and make it almost impossible to fire an incompetent teacher– which is a great many of them. Thirdly, as the teachers unions are the strongest contributor to the Democrat party, the problem is unfixable in the absence of a strong political realignment. That's the way it is. Blaming it on the pandemic is an easy excuse the downward spiral of our failing public school educational system.

  7. I'm not surprised either. My grades dropped too. And I was less interested in stuff 🤦🏾‍♂😢

  8. Kids are getting dumber as well as their parents because Trump allowed Covid to spread

  9. Biden and these democrats did that. Vote them out of office.

  10. Well duh…. If the parents weren't behind them, kids did everything but follow remote learning… The disparity is due to parents working from home or not.

  11. More illegalsi is less time for your kid.. my daughter was denied summer school but they gave it to kids who's parents don't speak English

  12. Great, even more "poorly educated" self entitled spoiled AI brainwashed brats. Just what 'amuricah' needs. More illiterate trolls who can't spell.

  13. Get back to teaching reading writing and arithmetic and less CRT and progressive programming of our kids. They can pick that up after they graduate. I want to see scores in states that kept schools open vs those that didn’t. I know here our teachers union fought tooth and nail to keep our schools closed as long as possible.

  14. Well the country is already heading back in time so everyone might as well retrograde in knowledge.

  15. my 3rd garde teacher made us recite the multiplication table before leaving class. it was in some shithole 3rd world country in the east at the time. before invention of pencil erasers

  16. what? Detroit students are 2% proficiency in math? 2%?

  17. during 2020 I was a senior doing online. I was struggling, stressed, tired and still managed to pass all my classes

  18. Explains the cnn/msnbc comments section.

  19. Education scores have been going down and down for several decades. It’s called progressivism.
Head to the library and check out books. Until public schools became mandatory in America a good education was up to parents and a willing student. Public schools really haven’t been around all that long. Mandatory schooling was emerging in the 1800’s. With strong math, reading, writing, history and geography skills America took off in technology and space achievement.

  20. DUH! No kidding? Who would have thought? I believe this is why sane people told the corrupt teachers unions that the kids should be in school. The teacher's union was simply trying to produce the next generation of uneducated ,Democrat voters. Before anyone even tries to say it, tell me about the pre-lockdown graduation rates in cities like Chicago, Detroit, and Baltimore.

  21. We are getting dumber and dumber. But I bet the LGBQT numbers are going up by the day!

  22. of course dumber American kids means more future republican voters.

  23. Cut class to go home for a year or 2 and what do you expect? Do the math. Catching up will require years of year round school like they should have been doing in the first place.

  24. Wow, 40 percent failed to grasp basic math concepts. How did the other 70 percent do?

  25. Parents get most the blame….they should have supplemented some education. I refuse to believe teachers are fully culpable.
