An NBC News investigation finds an unlikely alliance forming in the Dakotas between Native American Organizers and white farmers who are teaming up in an effort to block a proposed carbon pipeline. The project would be the largest of its type, spanning five years, and expected to cost nearly five billion dollars. Karla Hult from NBC News’ Minneapolis affiliate KARE has the story.

Something about that pipeline just doesn't seem right. If they are just going to put the gas in the ground, why can't they put the gas directly under the plants creating it? And for that matter, is pumping all that gas underground even safe? How much has this been studied?

This sounds like a solution that will become an environmental nightmare in the not too distant future. How much damage will be done to install the pipelines, that need to be maintained? Why not store the stuff under the plant that creates the emissions? In fact, why have it emit into the air at all? Cannot the plants be built to shoot the deadly emissions straight into an underground storage facility? 🤷♀️🤔
