So many incredible facts which demonstrate what an arc of history she covered, but one that made me do a double take is that there is more than 100 years between the dates of birth of her first Prime Minister (Winston) and her last (Liz Truss).

My mother died at 96 as well (on my 60th birthday). Like the Queen, she was in good shape all the way until just before the end. When I saw the video of the Queen with the new PM, she reminded me so much of how my mom looked in the last week of her life, that I almost cried.
