South Korea is in mourning tonight as police search for clues on how a night of festivities turned so tragic. Massive crowds of people were trying to fit through a 13-foot-wide street, with witnesses saying there were too few police around to control the mass of people. More than 150 people died, and at least 130 were injured. Authorities say nearly all victims were identified. Most were in their 20s and 30s and were mainly women.

Rip to all Halloween victims 💔.. indians are with you🇮🇳
so sad
You Christian Buddhists have no compassion, you celebrate a haram holiday knowing that people are dead. Again, your shameless expression of sympathy is foolish, in fact this holiday is illegitimate, if you don't stop this holiday, there will be even more terrible casualties next year, people get choked to death, my words are not for everyone
die silly from his stupid deeds
The event can be described as a crowd crush or surge, but not a stampede, said G. Keith Still, a crowd safety expert and visiting professor of crowd science at the University of Suffolk in England. A crush or surge happens when people are packed together in a confined space and there’s movement such as pushing that causes the crowd to fall over. Essentially, Still said, a “domino effect.”
A stampede implies that people had space to run, which was not the case in Itaewon, he said. The more people who are in the crowd, the greater the force of the crowd crush is.
It is going to take time for Korea to deal with this tragedy.
One death is a tragedy, 149 deaths is a statistic. Well there's going to be a lot of job openings, slightly less traffic, less pollution. I'd say this was a win. Yes I'm an evil man.
can't wait for the right-wing to turn it into some sort of conspiracy
❤🙏🏻
1:57 what??? Beijing
Wow, people are stupid.
So the moral is don't go near any place where there is a crowd of Asians because they are uncoordinated.
So it was real Halloween 🤣 fear and death in masse 😆
I'm Muslim I don't celebrate Halloween 🎃
RIP🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
It's better to control the crowd in this kind of event by making sure that there are several spots of events at various distance, so the crowds won't concentrate into one big blob and can get divided among several centers.
This is an absolute tragedy. It seems that a lot of the police were diverted moving the president from the Blue House to the new place! I haven’t heard this on the news yet. This event is usually well policed!
