  1. Progress with to attain racial equity and fairness out of a separate and unequal society has been uneven. In some parts of the country great progress has been made and other parts remain stuck in the past. People who are holding on to the freedom to discriminate for a litany of reasons mostly around race still hold a lot of power. Lately the country has been divided in blue states and red states or as we knew as the 'deep south' and mostly white more rural enclaves around the country. A black person can go into some all white areas and the racism is palpable and intense. Others places not so much. That is also part of the so called political polarization through the u.s. today. Many racist whites have been fighting against affirmation action since 1972 when discrimination was rampant.

  2. Next they need to strike down corporate personhood, and the 19th amendment.

  3. Guys are old enough to have children when they first have senam our all Hunt you down and kill you at Georgia Scalia house Clarence

  4. Disservice to legit blacks who don't get browny points

  5. If you support affirmative action, you support people being judged on the color of their skin rather than the content of their character.

The Left (who mostly support affirmative action) are once again proving they are still the real racists in our society

  6. Affrimative Action is racist

  7. Blacks have been assimilated into all aspects of life. They've made it. There is no more need for special treatment. They have skills to compete with anyone else. End affirmative action. There is no need.

  8. Diversity is their strength – until the diversity is dumped in their neighborhoods.

  9. We wouldn’t need affirmative action if we didn’t have white supremacy

  10. You all are dead wrong in your thinking. You all have read nothing of any consequence to be able to weigh in intelligently on this subject.

  11. … I wonder why a Caucasian conservative argues in favor of getting rid of affirmative action on the basis of racial equality when the results will only hurt ethnic minorities and lead to an unequal outcome.

  12. No one should ever be asked about their race as part of an application. The only time it might be relevant is in a medical diagnosis that includes specific race-related backgrounds.

  13. Politics without Principals
    Education without Character
    Pleasure without a Conscience
    Justice without Mercy.
Society is in a fallen state.

  14. We could just make college free for everyone, and then this wouldn't be an issue. However, if colleges are going to pick and choose applicants then we need to ensure they do so in a fair manner. It has to be understood that most people are not rational and there must be oversight. A black person's money is just as green as that of a white person, yet until government mandates in the 1960s there were many places that were willing to turn down extra profit for the sake of exclusion.

  15. Should a rich black student get preference over a poor white one?

  16. Even if we could wave a magic wand today and every child starts off the same and goes to a good school, it wouldn’t last. Some of those kids would choose to go to college to be doctors and some would choose to be mechanics. Nothing wrong with either profession. But then their children will grow up in different circumstances. We would have to reset the system every generation. Which would be impossible.

  17. The democrats have, never in their history on the Supreme Court, voted against discrimination. Let’s see what happens.

  18. European Americans call themselves white but are pink? pink supremacy?

African Americans call themselves black but are dark brown?

If Americans can choose colours that they are not then I can too.

I am a brown Maori and I choose to call myself a gold supremacist.

  19. So racist, assuming white or Asian kids don't face adversity. Never thought I'd see the day that the all the civil rights movement accomplished would be thrown out the window and replaced with the very concepts it was fighting against.

  20. The Supreme Court is illegitimate!

  21. Joe Biden openly stated that he would only nominate a Black Woman to the Supreme Court. YOU Ketanji Brown, you are the affirmative action example that you are braying about. :-/

  22. End the racist policy. Merit only!

  23. Affirmative action nowadays in schools and businesses is a racist practice. You shouldn't go out to purposely hire or admit someone to boost racial numbers and that's what has happened for way to long.

  24. It's Asian discrimination… stop with the blacks.. Lotz of very poor whites too.

This social injustice feel good cause I'm a mighty white progressive light… get the fck out here.

    Diverse.. really?

  25. As a Democrat, I disagree with affirmative action. Consider the obstacles students had to overcome, not race. Sure, a privileged White or Asian student may have a higher GPA, but is that really more impressive than a student who wasn't so fortunate in regards to having a stable home life and access to materials, attending well-funded schools, etc.? Probably not. Such a plan may disproportionately benefit students of color, but any student may benefit of a system like this regardless of their ethnic background. And, unlike race, at least it is a relevant criterion as far as being a reliable predictor of future academic success and career potential.

  26. What about a person of mixed race? So would the racial component of their application be prorated?

  27. Just look what affirmative action has done to our government.. incompetence and cronyism

  28. The young man who said that affirmative action was showing the act of overcoming adversity doesn't seem to realize that other types of adversity that are not taken into account when going to college. I had cancer through from my freshman year of high school through my junior year and was in the hospital for a significant time of that cancer, yet that adversity is not part of the equation colleges look at and yet it did affect my records going into college. There would be other people who might fall under affirmative action assistance who didn't have to over come what I did and yet would receive help through affirmative action.

  29. I think the Supreme Court should be abolished immediately.

  30. I guess they better pay high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools the same then. Rich white schools better get the same amount as a poor black school

  31. Everyone is making it about race. Don't forget about gender, sexuality, religion, disability, ect.

  32. without abortion campus needs white men again
