Its just too late. Too many selfish zombies cult members will accept lies to get the issues they want accomplished.
And yet…they dont know what a Roth IRA, Index Fund, or compound interest is. The stock market went straight up since 2008 (besides this year).
Maybe millions of folks (on both sides) should really be upset that they missed out on the compound interest, growth, and security IF they were taught a couple concepts in high school.
1. Compound interest (and play with compound interest calculators using 7-11% of 20-30 years)
2. Simple low cost index funds like VTI
3. Fear debt like the devil… including not blowing all your money in December bc Santa wants you to. But instead… celebrate investing for your FUTURE SELVES!!!! (There should be cards at the grocery store saying "Congrats on opening your Roth IRA!!)
4. Understand the tax advantage buckets: Roth IRA, 401k, HSA

Not everybody has extra money to invest. But if you fill up your giant SUV at Costco weekly with $300 worth of pretzels and pizza… and you dont have a Roth IRA, know what an index fund is, or understand how much growth you missed since 2008….. and youre a Trump cult member…………………….. maybe the REAL reason you should be pist is… you were taught the wrong things in high school.
If we were taught in HS that the market will crash 6 to 7 times in our life b/w say 18-60 and always pretend like its 2005, have an emergency fund, and dump it into an index fund like VTI when the next 2008 comes……. just maybe 10-15 years later…. the seeds of security you've planted would grow into a garden of flexibility and security. #therealluxuries
