  1. This was troubling. Slavery ended centuries ago and yet it continues to be an issue. The truth will set you free and that truth has not been told. FYI, the largest slaveholder in the south was William Ellison, a free black man in South Carolina. The last 2 states to have slaves were northern states. Etc. The truth is out there. Try doing the research. For over 700 years white Christians were enslaved by Muslims. Should we keep raising that issue?

  2. Democrats fought one Civil War to keep their slaves, and they'll fight another one if they have to

  3. The amendment that passed in Tennessee made sure to confirm that prisoners may be forced to work. All it did was rename slave labor to prison labor.

  4. Day is never finished,
    Master got me working,
    Someday Master set me free

  5. Slavery was abolished when the Republicans freed the slaves from the Democrats after the American Civil War. Calling to abolish slavery in the United States is similar to calling for the death penalty for a convict who has already been executed a long time ago.

  6. How the hell is this still a damn issue?! Using prisoners as forced free or low labor is still a thing in the U.S.? This also minor felonies such as driving violations. WTF?!

  7. Holy! Slavery is now legal in Louisiana

  8. America calls itself a protector of human Rights but still has slavery. America is the only country in the world legalizing slavery. No human Rights for americans.

  9. I think y’all crazy this the 20th century doing this going to start a revolution and chaos in America 🇺🇸

  10. You know what prisoners should have the right to vote as well president Biden should recommend this to the Republicans to get them even more pissed 💯✍️

  11. WOW, 2022, and the US is still debating the pros and cons of slavery in the supposedly 'land of the free and home of the brave' and the US has the audacity to lecture China, Pakistan, and Iran on human rights.

  12. Tax money paid to keep inmates in the prisons. Average is about more than $30,000 per year. If they work and receive wages or salaries, they should pay back to society.

  13. If you have a SS# your a slave to our government!!

  14. Lmao, good excuse for these states to not have votes to let biden run again

  15. Hillary and Bill Clinton had convict slaves working at the Governor’s Mansion in the 1980’s.
    History repeats itself.

  16. This has to be a misrepresentation of the bill they’re talking about. I don’t know anything about it but it just seems like much of the BS they spew in the media these days.

  17. Anyone serving more than 10 years for a violent crime should be put to work to pay off their debt to society. Why does this country protect VIOLENT CRIMINALS???!!!

  18. Sweet now we can charge rent for prison cells and charge for meals if you don't pay rent you can sleep in the yard and if you don't pay for your meals you don't eat good job holding criminals accountable

  19. Just voted in California and it was not on the Ballot.

  20. Wow they talked only about Louisiana which the wrong abbreviation! But prisoners shouldn’t be awarded anything for being a criminal. Let them pay a price especially if they took someone’s life away. Only God has the right!

  21. Humans are too stupid, greedy, and violent to create prosperity for all and preserve the health of the planet.

  22. 0:50

So are the American`s going to keep having 'involuntary servitude'?

  23. There are some dumb asses that still want to bring back slavery!

  24. You do the crime, you do the time

  25. perhaps if prison were used for what it is supposed to instead of a business with free labor, it wouldnt be profitable to imprison as many people as possible.

  26. I don't know, there is virtually zero justice served in the current courst system.

I actually think that part of a "punishment" would be that the fruit of your labor during your incarceration goes to the victim. To me, that just makes sense. Free forced labor for a company (private prison) or government? No. Buy for victims compensation? I think that would be an improvement.

  27. God help us if this goes before the SCOTUS – it will pass !!!

  28. I read the bill here in Oregon, I voted no because it clearly says that we would have to pay inmates at least minimum wage, 🙄
I disagree with benefitting criminals with a job while those who try to do the right thing have to fight for a job!

  29. When I looked into it, it said that it involves incentive programs in jails. The programs are not forced, but voluntary. They involve good behavior programs like laundry, working in the kitchens etc. and getting an education. In return they get time off their sentences. Under this people would just opt for it without time off their sentences, so I don’t see it as valuable to the prisoners. This report didn’t mention any of that, and I hadn’t seen what it suggested it do. I’m totally against for profit prisons, ( which involve having people making items to sell for profit for the jails) If this was to end for profit prisons I’d be very happy about it, but this doesn’t. So it looks like it’s worded to sound like buzz words, but ends time off your sentences programs. Here’s to hoping that it’s actually for ending for profit labor, but doesn’t end those incentive programs.

  30. I'd be darned if I work for free! In jail or out of jail I would be the worst worker they had if they forced me to work! I would make sure I failed to operate all machinery correctly and ruin as much as I could! All by accident! Fair work is only for fair pay! 2 cents a day sure as heck will not cut it!! The country's prison system is all about how to make money and as much as possible..total messed up system!

  31. Why was Louisiana abbreviated as LI?

  32. For criminals, I think this “slavery” is good they took from society they should have to give back

  33. Remember to boycott Chinese goods

  34. Why did the democrats not want black people to drink out of water fountains. Nor did they want black men using same rest room as white people. Didnt Lincoln free the slaves. Yep and he was a republican. Go f8gur3.

  35. I think Marco Rubio lose.

  36. I think it's not slave labor it gives them time to get out of their cage so they should be glad to work they need to charge them room and board so they are paying for their crimes

  37. It's only a matter of time. People are already living as paycheck to paycheck slaves. Next step is just letting corporations own people. Democracy has been sold to the corrupt capitalist corporations so this is just the next step.

  38. To obtain financial freedom, one must either be a business owner, an investor or both, generating passive income, particularly on a monthly basis.

  39. The problem is that corporation would want to get as many people locked up as possible so they could use their free labor. That's not that different than slavery.

  40. Without involuntary servitude California would have burnt completely to ashes in the last couple years alone.

  41. You are talking about criminals. The least they could do is work for thier 3 hots and a cot. Considering the everyday tax payer is having issues affording food on the table. This is not slavery its called restitution.

  42. Slavery is on the ballot, sure. What's next? A return to segregated bathrooms if Democrats don't win? so absurd you clowns are

  43. Racist America at its best

  44. Excellent video. I am so happy that they are trying to adress this in America now.

  45. Vote republican if you love your country 👍🤠
