People blame Trump. Gop didn't lose because of him. They lost because democracy is flawed. Liberals won because of the young people who are morons. How is democracy flawed? Young people today are, and not all mind you, but many are lazy, live on video games and watching videos. Look around people. Tons of jobs available. Yet when you walk into fast food or grocery stores. There's always seniors, old disabled people, middle aged people. Few kids. And we let them vote. They're clueless, lazy, and only worried about what's trendy. Democracy will fail so long as deadbeats, illegals, and kids (18-25) except service men and women are allowed to vote. Stop letting illegals vote. Stop letting our increasingly moronic kids vote. Require IDs. And limit political ads. And make opinionated or false ads illegal.

McConnell saved many of the few competitive seats Republicans were able to hold (Ohio for example swung massively after he started working on that campaign). Blaming him of all people makes no sense.
I guess people blame him for not supporting other candidates, but some of them were campaigning actively against McConnell, why would he put his money behind them? They couldn't organize and raise money and McConnell could, that's on them.
