The motorist who drove through a Massachusetts Apple store, killing one person and injuring more than a dozen people, was charged with reckless homicide in his first court appearance. That happened in my Toyota pickup once. The floor mat wedged it down. Thankfully 12 hrs later it ran out of gas.

What’s shocking is this was an accident but someone beating a person would get released without bail.
With the store front all glass, why don’t they have barriers along the curb to prevent this from happening. Sounds like the strip mall owners are also at fault.

Motive will be an important issue here, and I doubt the accused guy had one. We can kid about wanting the new phone, but we know we are kidding. I think he is innocent, though that required knowing what he was thinking when it happened and whether the gas pedal was really stuck.
So where are the vehicle stoppers that are supposed to be in front of stores? Even Walmart has these blockers to keep vehicles from being able to run through the glass doors….so why aren’t they being used in front of these stores? These simple things could have saved lives and prevented this from happening.
