If student loan forgiveness is unconstitutional, then what makes bankruptcy courts legal or the fact that the IRS can forgive tax debt??? The whole reason we're at this crossroads is because when congress originally supported the student loan concept, they did not allow for anyone to declare bankruptcy and discharge the student loan debt in court. To help support the greedy banking industry.

Continuing to allow people who took out student loans to defer payments on those loans indefinitely (all through the Wu Flu period and now extended again for another 7 months) is an even better deal for those borrowers than a cheesy $10K to $20K deduction, which will be picked up by taxpayers. Instead of getting a few thousand dollars removed from the total owed, and then having to start making payment on the rest of the loan, the borrower gets to make ZERO payment on a larger total. Is this a great country or what? Let's see a show of hands of people who believe that sometime in the late spring Brandon won't extend the deferral again. Those with their hand raised just confirmed they have an IQ that is lower than my hat size.
