It played slower than a traditional Perth pitch, hence catchers needed to be up a tad further: Warner played well, but a good field placing saw him undone; the catch of Blackwood by Marnus likewise. The game has suffered from slightly inconsistent length & passive field placings from both sides. This has been rectified somewhat; I further hope it sets a precedent for the summer. Let us hope Brathwaite has set a standard for future Windies tours: He was fantastic as were Marnus & Smith, though I would like to hear more comparisons to Ponting & Clarke, rather than Bradman & Sobers as numbers can be misleading. O' Keefe pointed out that had Marnus been dismissed when he offered chances he would average 44, ala Jones, Boon et al. As for Chanderpaul, there is every chance he will justify the family name. Great match: Truthfully, Aussies were better, but I feel sad saying it.
