  1. Railway jobs pay very well and have good benefits already. Wages are in the 6 figure range. Most Union jobs don't pay this much to employees. The companies need to hire more engineers.

  2. Congress had to step in to protect the economy. A 24% pay raise was a big request thou. Congress is also trying to pass sick days to be required nationwide. So, this still has an opportunity to pass as long as Republicans don't block it.

  3. what’s this? Fox being pro-union?

  4. They should fix the inflation that they and the FED created .

  5. While sick days are important …do you people realize that if you have less then 20 years in the railroad …you more then then likely don’t work full time …the vast majority of railroad workers don’t work 12 months out of the year and struggle to keep their “ great health care intact ..why should the railroads give 7 days sick leave a year to part time employees when every other employer in this country does the same thing by keeping most of their employees under 30 hours a week to screw them out of benifits? What about them.?

  6. If they get sick days are they going to require a doctors excuse to get the sick day pay?

  7. Shouldn't be up to congress should be up to workers and there union

  8. Even FedEx paid it's package handlers 2500 to not come to work for 10 days if we tested positive for COVID. The government is using this as a means to deny workers the ability to strike. I'm not a huge fan of Unions as most are as corrupt as government but this law will set a bad precedent. If 7 days of paid sick leave is all they're asking for along with a cost of living raise I don't understand what the issue is.

  9. Feds STAY out of UNION Affairs

  10. If they accept this subjugation, how can you
    Blame the Capitalist?🤔

  11. They deserve that sick time and honestly should get 2 weeks. The workers deserve better!

  12. Yeah you would love you would love Congress to take care of it but why are you relying on the government to take care of it when you can take care of it on your own by working harder and producing more you don't need the government to take care of this you need the government to stay the freaking hell out of it and just take care of your business work harder produce more and you get paid more

  13. That is every company in this United States they all try to make ends meet and make profit and try to make more money so why are you complaining y'all making so much freaking money that's pitiful so why you complaining?

  14. The workers should be able to strike. The railroad is a private industry. They need to challenge the law in court and take it to scotus.

  15. I haven't had a sick leave in a decade I haven't been paid to be sick in a decade and I haven't had a pay raise in a decade so get the f*** over it you dumb f***

  16. Why is no one telling us the details of this agreement?

  17. The economy needs to shut down, strikes should not be illegal. Pay more, inconsiderate f*cks.

  18. People keep saying this "24% raise" is such a good raise….I'm not sure they realize that raise is over a 5 year period and their health insurance cost is going up by $100 per month!

  19. NASA employees get 4 hours of vacation every 2 week pay period. that's 104 hrs of sick time every year plus 10 paid federal holidays, at least 13 vacation days, and our tax dollars also subsidize free child care for NASA employees/contractors/kids/grandkids… the US government only works for corporations. we should rename our country New Israel.

  20. Imagine Fox News supporting workers

  21. Norfolk is bigger than UP? I had no idea. I guess it's just the name that's so iconic.

  22. The average wage of American rail workers before this "negotiation" was $21-$26 per hr, for a job you don't have to pay for college to do. They're fine . This sh*t pisses me off. Let em strike, I'll go in & scab, get me a $26 wage, I could pay my house off in almost half the time with that $$$.

  23. Biden doesn't care about the American worker look at Delaware

  24. Rail workers got what they deserve, Rail workers voted for " Brandon " just like all union members, Union Pipeline workers voted " Brandon " and they got what they voted for.

  25. FUD news is a joke nobody is stunned nobody go free drugs in there candy the keystone pipeline has never been off line one day nobody fake voted H Walker is a joke Kari lake is a fake on one thought the trains would stop Fuax said the deal was the best deal ever yesterday

  26. Teamwork applies. I remember working for Wells Fargo back in 1993 and when a ten year employee was terminated the entire staff called out sick the following day.

  27. A whopping 43 people who have unlimited sick days voted to prevent around 115,000 rail workers from gaining just seven paid sick leave days.

Here are the senators who voted Thursday against giving rail workers paid sick leave. Forty-two are Republicans, and one is a Democrat.

  28. You know I don’t know where these guys come from ,most Americans maybe get a 5-6% increase every 5-10 years it sure as hell isn’t every year. These guys wages are averaging over 130k a year. Which is double the national average income. Look I don’t begrudge people getting raises but when it’s at taxpayers expense constantly. What Biden has done is lower my wages by 20-25 % by his inflation and this is reality for most Americans unless your the elites. So not a whole lot of sympathy here

  29. Hold on a minute Yes you are asking more then the rest of the country gets I can tell you this I'm not going to see no 24% pay raise ever in my f**** life
