I wonder if the rail workers realize that they can strike anyway…. NO law trumps man's free will….
Politicians shouldn't have a say in the quality of life issues these workers are dealing with. They have no idea how it is doing that job or the day to day problems they constantly have to deal with. I hope they pull together and have a sick out or go on strike anyways. You deserve better instead of being victims of politicians terrible leadership.

Here is the sad part I being a railroader that fixes the Track we are outside in all kinds of weather and you just cant go find shelter you have to stay there working till its fixed….rain,snow,excessive heat ect ect. So with that said why cant we get paid sick leave when its our job that makes us sick??? Also the big railroads spread propaganda about there own workers that we make $130 to $160 thousand a year when track workers only make about 75 to 80 thousand with OT….hell if we made $130 thousand we wouldnt need there sick pay because we have enough money to cover a day here and there. We sure did get the shaft on this one, its hard to swallow having your goverenment tell you what your gonna make when they have no clue what its like out here working the tracks. Also remember this we work one of the most dangerous jobs out there and so easily can be hurt bad or killed. We have lost 2 Brothers in the last week. I just wanted the public to know it isnt what they are telling you and we worked 3 yrs with out a pay raise!!! Then to top it off they told us to our faces we the workers are not the reason they make money??? Almost forgot I as a worker now has to do a third more work because Big Corp Railroad fired a third of our work force!!!
