Wrong on many counts, Larry. Firstly, the massive inflation, most of which is not being reported so the gov't can call that portion economic growth instead, will take time to subside because each change in interest rates takes around 6 months to be fully realized in the economy. Secondly, the rising interest rate trend will continue, and the Fed's efforts to curb inflation with higher interest rates will partly be mitigated by Congress continuing to pass its huge budget deficits. Thirdly, the Fed's interest rate increases have not immediately had an impact on inflation because suppliers and customers have contracts with built in prices, which are sticky. As those contracts expire and are rolled into new ones, new prices will be built in. Fourthly, the Microsoft/Activision merger should absolutely not be allowed to move forward. Activision Blizzard is a premier gaming company with a dynamic corporate culture, so it is not a fit for Microsoft, which has made many of its acquisitions less useful and responsive to its users than they were before (e.g. LinkedIn). It would be a huge disservice to gamers and the gaming industry to allow that merger to go forward. Activision Blizzard is strong enough as a corporation with quality product to be a stand-alone company.

The Fed should show Congress it's study on government fiscal transfers as a driver of inflation noting that it would be easier to restore balance between demand and supply if Congress didn't pay people not to work. But this is likely wishful thiniking between the failings of both fiscal and monetary-policy makers, it looks as if taxpayers will be the ones held accountable.
