The heckler clearly wanted to provoke Kevin to get him in more trouble. As far as I’m concerned, Kevin was within his legal rights to defend himself. You don’t need a silly “Stand Your Ground” law for that. The heckler committed a crime by getting into Kevin’s face and violating his space. That’s aggravated assault on the heckler’s part. Kevin had every reason to feel violated and threatened. Having said that, my advice to all elected politicians is never say anything prejudiced against any specific racial group even if you think you’re in a private setting. You never know if somebody is recording or filming you until it’s too late. It’s too bad Kevin learned nothing from former Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s mistakes. Kevin owes it to himself to resign. If he doesn’t resign, he should be recalled.
Odds he is unemployed & in public housing. Resign.
