Maybe they should be argueing for a refund instead of loan forgiveness because these colleges are turning our kids into left wing, woke, emotionaly confused, socialism supporting, privileged idiots.

If Biden really wanted to fix the problem he would allow people to get refunded by colleges for useless degrees. You would no longer be able to say you went to college if you accepted the refund though
Here’s my biggest problem with forgiving student loan debt Why forgive it to people who are going to be making $200k per year eventually like myself or doctors. Why forgive it for people who got multiple (useless) degrees? Someone can keep going to school forever and then tax payers keep paying for a useless service. If college was completely free everyone would keep going for useless or unnecessary masters programs. I would get a masters to stand out. I would go to school for software engineering, then an MBA, then a second MBA from a more elite institution.

I got student relief and got refund about a month ago. I paid off during pendemic to avoid the intetest. It was relly difficult dicison for me and I had hard time during that period. And now I have the amound paid off + interest at Nelnet. This is fraud. They are trying to collect the interest to make a new loan.
How is this different from bailing out banks, airlines, and PPP loan forgiveness? Not everyone is gonna benefit from it. Get over it.

You never get rid of the loans with all the interest rates. If only the money could be paid back without interest just that would help. Those who don't want help don't take it. Opt out. But, don't stop the ones who need it from getting it. We can bail out big corporations, help other countries but can't help our own . You red states that have a problem don't take it. I would love to hear what your constituents have to say about that. Stop all of this foolishness and help the people in need.

If they would just make all the accrued interest go away I'd be happy to pay what I received. I've been paying on the same loan for decades and the only time my amount owed went down was during the pandemic…I've kept paying.. just make the interest go away and I'll be happy. Moving forward it should be a capped amount ie.. every 10k you borrow you will pay 3k in a convenience fee vs interest
the student debt issue is a textbook example of why Govt should not be monkeying with things. Prior to the student loan program, tuitions were pretty reasonable and affordable. Back then, unsecured student loans were generally not available because risk of default was too great. So congress thinks "hey lets not allow folks to default on student loans so that institutions will loan the money." Congress passes the act, institutions loan billions and college tuitions skyrocket due to the availability of funds. The result of this stupid program was students having huge loans that are nearly impossible to pay off and they cannot default on. I'd propose that if loans are forgiven, that the govt get out of the student loan business entirely. They've done enough damage.
The government would rather spend billions of dollars fighting war and spending it other countries than help the citizens get of debt. What a shame
How can most young people go to college without taking out financial aid? I was asking this question because people complaining about student loans being forgiven… they should be!! It is not the students fault that they are offering more student loans than grants in financial aid packages..I think it is awesome when people go to college to get more education…what would the United States be like if we didn't have educated people? We wouldn't have doctors, lawyers, nurses, social workers, etc… All had to get an education to get where they are now.
In summary citizens who paid back their loans, citizens who never borrowed, and citizens who never went to college must pay off current student debts. Vote Republican

Student loans should never be forgiven !
Once some student debt is relieved, the economy will have ample stimulation for years to come. It will be beneficial for our economy for some debt to be forgiven.
The funny thing is the people against it didn't flip their lid during the FORGIVENESS of banks and other corporations received during the 2008 recession. Who by the way was 100% at fault! Also let's not start on the forgiveness of business loans during the pandemic that many wealthy people got. Like sure giving your opinion but alot of people are hypocritical to say "oh the taxpayers will be taking a hit" but are mute on other things taxpayers have already paid for towards the wealthy. but hey time will tell how much kissing the wealthy butt will do for "working class". 🤣

Universities and colleges are too expensive. Interest rate is up the roof. Economical pressures are on the rise with increased gas and food prices. They need to lower or reevaluate the cost of tuition for students. Education is beneficial and necessary. We are behind in updating our education system. We can't even provide good healthy lunches to students in school which countries outside the US do.
How is Biden’s plan a violation of state’s rights when it relates to a federal program?
Work hard people you will have to pay for this for this 4 year party.
