A lot of people got hurt and that's just not right. People that misuse money from older people or those on a fixed income should be held accountable for their actions and suffer the consequences.
He's never going to jail. He laundered money for very high US gov't elected officials. If he is threatened with jail, he's going to release all of the evidence he has. If he is killed, all of the evidence will be released by the deadman switch.
