More than 5,000 sailors in the U.S. Navy are abroad the USS George HW Bush in Europe, most on their first deployment away from their families during the holiday season. NBC’s Molly Hunter spoke with sailors who group of young enlisted sailors, and the U.S. Nav’s first Puerto Rican Admiral, Dennis Velez on how they feel spending the holidays out at sea.

From Jan 1942 through Sep 1945 my dad, 18 yrs old in the South Pacific in the Navy , only letters could get through and that was brutal to read a letter weeks or months old . No TV abroad a ship , no internet , cell phones, or face time . And just hoping your ship would survive through the island hopping campaign . 5 medals on a triangular box with a American Flag rests above the fireplace behind me as I type this for my dad a 22yr Navy Vet , WW2 , Korean War who was laid to rest on November 11th 1996 and fitting tribute , who I miss everyday . 4 brutal yrs away , but grateful for todays generation who are out on the high seas and wish they all to be safe and return home .

Ya. A contract with the military branch of government removes your rights and freedoms. It's always been this way. Some think the military is just a job. Well it's not. It's a duty you choose to do. Had a few things I would've liked to do while I was in but military movement takes priority. Been there done that.
As a former sailor in the US Navy, for those of you wondering what it's like being deployed over the holidays, I can assure you it is one of the most miserable and depressing times of the year, at least it was for me.
I vote Trump biden I'm disappointed I don't like it anymore he left it a bit soft with the talks with the nations with all the sayings and conjugations and the words he was saying on that decoration sheet I anyway I think it holds up in Romania, in America, in Spain, everywhere
